In the late 80s, Julian's and my social circles overlapped and he was never rude, obnoxious, loud, etc. when so many were that way. I still have my original 1984 Valotte and it's so good! I remember he was given a hard time because he sounded like his dad and, if I recall, that hurt his success.

I became a life long Julian fan in 1984 and from that I became a Beatle fan. I mean I had heard of the Beatles and remember when John was shot cause of my parents but didn't really appreciate their work until I saw Julian hosting for the first time on Friday Night Videos and they debut the video valotte.

I think that's fantastic, changing your name around to have Julian FIRST! That makes ALL the difference, when dealing with people - those that are trying to judge your work against your father's. and to my knowledge, John could only write songs, sing, and play guitar.. Julian can be JULIAN - without the whole "John" aspect jumping out .. Julian has many different artistic talents- he writes songs, sings, plays guitar, and piano, he's a photographer with a fantastic eye for just the right view of a photo, artist ( to arrange a photo gallery display, it takes an eye for art too!) He has ao many talents- I can't believe people try so hard to oush Julian in a lower category with his father. Don't get me wrong, John was talented, but, for the amount of talent, and number of talents he had, his ego was WAY to large! If he'd had just half of that overinflated ego, he wouldn't have been so selfish, and would have been a much better father to his firstborn son! Possibly a much better husband to Cynthia too... As it was, the sum total of memories John left Julian with , was selfish few, and weren't the greatest, when John had the chance to be a dad to Julian , instead of a "father" as John had, and didn't really know, either, since he didn't stick around in his life either. It's no wonder Julian was SO careful not to make the same mistakes of his grandfather and father with a child, that he never had one of his own.. Who can blame him? Just my view, you understand 😉 Sorry folks, I tend to ramble!😄

Love this guy. I have a weird name that I despise & nobody gets it right. I can relate how Julian has had to " explain" his name over the years. We shouldn't be made to carry a name that is strange, or weird, or needs an explanation or gets comments all the time. I am 66 years old and so fed up with my name. Even when I spell it for someone, they can't get it right. Parents, don't give your kid a weird name just because YOU like it.

Too raunchy, at times, however they're on-the-scene with exclusive stories, and update very quickly to breaking news. Julian is a classy, refined gentleman. His message through song needs to reach near, and far. 🌎
