I couldn't tell if the Nazi Embassy guards were shouting at Julianna to halt or to the pursuing Japanese soldiers to get them to back off from her.

They were yelling at Juliana because she was an unknown making a beeline towards the embassy with a whole IJA regiment chasing her.

@@princepscivitatis4083 Wished we could have seen the exchange between both groups of soldiers right when the embassy took her in. The IJA leader shouted she was their prisoner.

That's the beauty of this scene. It's apart of her arc and the greater Japanese/German narrative at the same time.

If you look at the soldiers on the right and left, they aren't aiming at her. The officer (man with the pistol) was aiming and the rest were aiming at the IJA soldiers. I'd imagine that would be the most realistic way to do things. You'd want to contain the unknown threat and also stop another nations troops from violating your nations sovereignty. It's good story telling! (also: imagine being in an actual position where seeking asylum in the third reich is better than your current situation... ouch!)

@@Carolina_Luke I think that's the core tragedy of the scene. Here is no sanctuary. You're choosing between frying pan and fire, and you're hoping the frying pan will save you from the fire. Brings a tear to my eye.

As long as they are inverted 卍 then it’s fine. The one I typed is a Buddhist symbol for things like peace and heaven. Thus when reversed in swastica it means hell

@@HappyGM-R Its a DHARMIC symbol, Sanatana Dharma, Buddhism(Which emerged out of Hinduism ie Sanatana Dharma, Jainism and Sikhism), what the Germans used was "Hakkenkreuz" aka Hooked Cross, that can still be seen in Pope's sistine chapel.

It's dangerous. You see Germans didn't walk out of their territory. The Japs weren't supposed to walk out of it as well but they did. If they'd run, that'd create too much tension that the Germans might've just opened fire suspecting it as a Japanese assault onto their border.

I love how absurdly over the top this world spanning Super Reich is. If someone wants realism, story of 'Fatherland' in book and movie is better. Germany wouldn't be able to sustain grip on Eurasia, let alone half of the world.
