Greek food is pretty big too most coneys have these dogs and gyros. Greek: pegasus (no coneys but fantastic greek food) Asian: peterboro or johnny noodle king or shangri la Sliders: green dot stables Brunch: dime store Middle eastern food la palma is pretty good

They have signs and shit saying “not the same place” but you stand back looking at it going “are you sure it’s not the same place?”

It’s the real secret spot. Mexican town is great. I just had a dream about the queso they bring out on a skillet the other day. Because of the auto industry in Michigan there are little pockets of people from different regions of the world. Great Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Indian polish food is totally under appreciated in Detroit area.

It’s not a New York food thing. It’s called that because Greek immigrants who started in Coney Island NY started spreading out across the U.S., and there ended up being a huge population in the metro Detroit area. They called their restaurants Coney Island restaurants because it was the place they were originally the most familiar with. It has nothing to do with the food in actual Coney Island.
