If we're to make a Boston Mount Rushmore where each sport gets only one person, I'd go with Brady for the pats, ortiz for the red sox, Bobby Orr for the bruins and bill russell for the Celtics. Ortiz in my opinion gets the edge over guys like Ted Williams, yaz, or Jim Rice because Ortiz helped lift the curse and was a huge factor in winning 3 world series titles.

Ortiz was great, don’t get me wrong. But, Ted Williams was better. Ortiz could hit, but not really field. Williams could do it all. Who knows what his statline would be if he wasn’t called into service in both WWII and Korea. Not only is the man a war hero, he’s also the last player to hit over .400 batting average in the modern age.

Ortiz & Pedro are the greatest Red Sox players ever. I'm sorry to the Teddy Ballgame fans, but one game or at bat to win it all I'm going with Papi. Ya ya, I know the whole Williams is the greatest hitters ever, but Papi is the most clutch player ever. And, to all the analytic guys out there, there is such a thing as being clutch. Williams made what? One W.S. and he was terrible in that series. Papi isn't the only reason his Sox teams won 3 but he is the biggest reason. I'll take 3 WS from #34 over any stat Williams has. AND I DONT CARE ABOUT THE WHOLE STERIOD THING. Ya it was leaked out but it was never official

My favorite Bruin? Barry Peterson. Bruins traded him for Cam Neely and a first rounder, who turned out to be Glen Wesley. They later traded Wesley to Hartford for three first-rounders (got Kyle McLaren, Johnathan Aitken and Sergei Samsonov). :) But I will accept Bobby Orr and Cam Neely as the answer to the question.

Marciano was great and i know he ended career undefeated but he's never considered, atleast from what ive seen, the greatest heavyweight. Hagler is arguably the greatest middle weight.
