Oh that was lovely, thank you! The setting is absolutely sublime (and barefoot, cross legged banjo playing is a fabulous aesthetic, I heartily approve)🌳🌱☀️

Hi Jelle. Wondering if you would recommend the ome tupelo as a great banjo. Im looking to upgrade from a cheaper beginners banjo and looking something that will last a lifetime. How do u find the tupelo sound. Smd whats it like to play. I live in ireland and open back banjos arent really something u can find in any music store. Unfortunately im working of online reviews. Love your music so was wondering if u could advise.

Thank you Glen! I absolutely love my Tupelo (not playing it in this video though). I have a couple of banjo's but the Ome is definitely my favourite. It has a very warm sound due to the 12 inch rim with wooden tonerim. I bought it from Eagle Music, they're based in the UK. Perhaps it's worth a trip? They're practically the only dealer in Europe. Ome's are expensive, and even more so after covid. Perhaps it's worth looking at some builders in the UK like Ballard Banjo's and Slim Jim. Let me know if I can help some more. Good luck!

Thanku so much for getting back to me. I will definitely take your advise and look at some of those local builders. Yes this banjo looks lovely in this video as well. Can I ask did u happen to change the head on your tupelo at some point in recent past. And yep they are very expensive but sound so beautiful.

@@glenmc517 the banjo is this video is made by David Prat btw. He's based in Barcelona (might be interesting; no import duties because of EU). Very skilled builder and great guy allround. I did change the tupelo head from a renaissance to a goat skin, ordered it off John Balch's webstore. The natural skin takes away the overtones a plastic head produces. I can recommend it for tone and esthetics, but only if the humidity in your homeplace is stable enough. Apparently there are places in the US where natural heads shrink and crack all the time..

One more question and I promise to leave you in peace. I noticed that Eagle music tupelo is advertised as being maple neck and maple tone rim construction. Yet the tupelo on omes website states that its cherry wood. Do u mind me asking what wood is on your ome. Thanks again
