Me: I wonder which technique Julia will use in this video. Julia: *All of them*

Yes, Julia definitely takes us on a tour of her wheelhouse here! When it said in the description about it being a journey I figured she was going to explore many techniques.... I'm going to assume she has others we didn't see her, although this was probably the widest array of technique I can recall seeing from her in a single video!

Beautiful arpeggios at the beginning. You can tell she's not playing for the spotlight, she's playing for the joy of it. It's infectious

What you mean? She's clearly playing pop garbage

@@ProgWork1ik I'm taking the rage bait, but it's hard for me to believe someone can think so negatively of a musician clearly having fun playing over a song they enjoy. so sorry you don't see or hear the beauty in it
@ProgWork1Ай бұрын
@@Latios427 you lost the argument when you used the word "you" (i.e accused a stranger of smth that's not true). I said she picked a pop garbage, for the spotlight. Her bass version and playing are undoubtedly beautiful, so more power to her.

Watched again. This is a masterclass in bass playing. Julia improves every song she plays over. Songs that I would not consider listenable or interesting in any way, Julia brings them to life and makes them into something amazing!

You should check out Tabula Rasa which was Matt and Mica’s (Mag Bay) old band along with their drummer Nick Villa. Specifically the song Crimson for a 20 minute epic in the classic prog vein.
