"Celebration" was inspired by Prince's " I wanna be your lover. " Ronald Bell was backstage at a Rick James concert and heard Prince who was supporting James singing that song. Ronald altered what he was hearing by reversing the groove and slowing down the speed and came up with the main hook for Celebration.

"Hollywood Swinging" was the first bass line I ever played, I only learned that song to play in a HS talent show (to get girls) with my friends having never played the bass before. It's very simple and it gave me the determination to play the bass.

Julia and the Bass Face are back! I can't get over how good she is at finger style funk--I wish I'd had a handle on that near as well as she does when I was playing the bass. Good show as always, Miss Julia! Me, I always liked the groove on "Joanna" because it's so relaxed and laid back, but confident, and the fills he does on the chorus between vocal lines are just so tasteful and perfectly timed. Deceptively simple, for sure.
