An open marriage is never the answer for a troubled marriage. There will ALWAYS be someone getting jealous, getting hurt, keeping secrets. Adding someone into an already troubled marriage is just complicating it more. And Julia. You're still so young. You can still do whatever it is you want, if you put your time and effort into it. Want to be a lawyer? Go for it! Wishing you the best. ALWAYS. But please, PLEASE, seperate before you bring others into your already damaged marriage. It will NOT fix a thing.

This comment is so important and I hope Julia read this! She is still so young. When I was 29 years old, I was just starting to live my dream life. Now I'm 38, feeling young and living with my boyfriend who is 18 years my junior. Life is good, now I know what I want and need. It's never too late to be happy again. 😊

I don't think Julia is ready for an open relationship. She's clearly grieving. If this comes from Eileen, that shocks me! I don't want to sound mean, but Eileen must be now about 66/ 67 if not older...does she want an open relationship at this stage in life??? She's married to a beautiful, young, talented and intelligent woman. What does she want at her age? Seriously. I'm not being ageist, btw. I'm 64. Just saying...
@jenn.9868

My thoughts too. I hope it is what Julia genuinely wants and isn't just going along with the idea because Eileen wants to. I don't know why I get that impression.. Obviously not saying that's the case, we don't know what is going on between them but I can't help but worry for Julia. Each to their own but the idea of opening up a marriage to make your marriage work with your wife/husband just seems just so heartbreaking.
@rose_yts

@@jenn.9868 It's true. Opening a marriage to save it, is the same as getting pregnant when your relationship is falling apart, thinking a baby will heal all the problems. It's like using a screwdriver to fix a broken vase. An open marriage must stem from a balanced relationship and a pre-arranged agreement, not a broken one. And it's not for everyone!

It’s none of my business but the one video that really struck a lot of fans is a clip of her wife shaming her and demanding she get her another soda. Id be so hurt being talked too like that and feeling obligated to be a caretaker.. Julia’s reaction broke my heart she looked so broken and defeated..To me she seems a lot more sad and like a exhausted caretaker since she got married. I’m not trying to be hateful or nosey but it’s worrying bc I’ve been a fan for a long time

@@yerichu I remember that. She was trying to please Eileen who was being so demanding! If Eileen needed or needs care, there's one more reason she should settle down with someone who has no obligation to look after her but is happy to help for love.

Polyamorous people exist you know. Although if you open the marriage just because you have issues and can't resolve them then yes, it is just stalling the inevitable breakup.
@raivyn79
@raivyn79 Жыл бұрын
Poly person here. Whatever issues you have between you and your wife need to be handled as a team. Having a third/fourth/etc won't fix those issues. Bringing in other people to make the marriage better will not work. It'll just cause jealousy, inevitable favourtism, bitterness, etc. If poly is being used to "improve" a relationship, it's already over. Not trying to be harsh, just honest. I want you to be happy. As for Fetlife, you can post pics of yourself there without them being BDSM related. People into certain fetishes will enjoy the pics regardless (i.e. you're super femme, and some people are really into that). All my pics there are not BDSM at all and I'm nowhere near as pretty as you and I still get comments and positive interaction. Go for it! It's more exposure and networking and that's always a good thing.
@rileyalexander358

Agree, that adding new partners to a relationship in the hopes it'll fix the existing issues is not the solution. Polyamory or non-monogamy can be tricky enough in its own when it's done intentionally and even with experience. Doing it whilst in crisis to try to heal long-term wounds is a recipe for disaster. 😢

But you have already accomplished so much! You’ve released music, music videos, done so many creative things that most people never do. And people love your work! You music is beautiful. At the end of the day you have touched people with your music, they have heard your art and that’s all that really matters. You leave a legacy behind. Also even people with more “normal” jobs are struggling in this current economy. As for that though, please don’t feel trapped in your life. I feel like open relationships are a kiss of death, honestly. I've never seen them work. Someone always gets hurt. Your spouse should truly be enough for you because you made literal vows to each other. I've been married 30 years. It's WORK. It's not always easy and I don't always like my spouse but I ALWAYS love them and honor the commitment we made before our family and friends. I just can't imagine how much it would hurt me to know that I wasn't enough for them and vice versa. You don't seem happy, Julia. At all. And that makes me so sad and worried for you.

Sometimes, as much as we want the fairytale, we have to step back and realize that love isn't always enough. I've never known someone married to be so alone. Please do not open your marriage in an attempt to fix any issues. An open relationship needs to have a sturdy foundation otherwise the walls come crumbling down. Relationship-wise, if it's working it's working... If not, then not... Not all relationships are meant to last forever, even if you are married... Age-gap relationships are even harder ~ in the beginning everything can feel totally fine... But over time it can start to take its toll... It's not about the number per se... but about the fact that a 30 year old has different things to think about regarding life than a 60 year old... 30 year old is still building up their life and becoming an adult (we're still pretty much just "kids" in our 20s), when a 60 year old is starting to finish up their career and look forward to their retirement..... And there are health-issues too... A 30 year old is at the prime of their physical health, and the 60 year old is starting to have more and more issues.... I've been in several age-gap relationships so I'm not judging! But it's also because of that that I can say they're problematic... In a way the younger partner gets the shorter stick? Don't miss your youth which will pass so fast anyway... And it's a serious thing to become the partner's carer at such young age, and then a young widow, even..... A lot to think about!

Julia - fellow musician here (collaborative pianist). I went through the same crisis a few years ago about whether I made the right career choice or not. All my friends were buying houses and having kids and had stable careers, but I was freelancing, stringing together part-time jobs and didn't have a "real job." But now I realize that I am SO fulfilled with my life - sure I may not be rich, but I have a creative outlet that will never let me down, and my love of music and dedication have attracted opportunities. I teach every single day, I have performances lined up, I have things to look forward to. You DEFINITELY made the right choice by following your heart with your career.

Julia dear, you wouldn't have been happy as a doctor or a lawyer. You would have felt bored and suffocated by the lack of creativity and art. You are an incredible artist and I don't know why you aren't more mainstream. Is your producer/publicist getting you enough gigs and appearances? You have everything it takes to rise to the top and you have excellent genetics from looking at your mother so you will probably be able to perform into your 50's and 60's like Joan Baez, Cher and Madonna ✨

Eileen has treated you horribly for a long time now! We have seen it in many vlogs. We have been praying you can get out of this relationship when you feel you can & hopefully able to find the love you deserve. Eileen - you should seriously consider therapy if you’re not already in it - because you treat your spouse terribly! & that could stem from something deeper or you just feel you’re older so you have power over her & feel like you should be the one “in charge” etc. regardless please let her go

Open marriages work if they start off as open. It doesn’t work out if it starts off monogamous and then opens. I hope it works for you, but it very often builds up resentment and unhealthy attachment styles from opening it up.

It's too soon to give up yet. I think the depression is making you doubt yourself and your decisions. I've been a long time viewer and have always loved your content, even back when you were doing pastel goth craft videos! I hope you are fully going after what you want and what you love. It's hard to be unsuccessful if you're following your heart, you will find a way. Compromise isn't compromise if you're doing a dis-service to yourself. There's a difference between a want and a need. I'm so very proud of you for pushing through. You have such a radiant and kind personality, even in your hardest days. I would give you a hug if i could.

Its really disappointing to me so many of my favorite LGBTQIA+ couples have announced poly! I have a ton of poly friends, no shade - I just love my wife very much and I would like to see representation of lesbian age gap couples, like us, that are mono and happy, despite the age difference! We are almost 10 years apart. You guys gave me so much hope I could find a wife, and I have finally, so I suppose you helped where I needed help. Blessed be and good luck, but I agree, final nail in the coffin. This type of content makes me want to draw nearer to my wife, who is just as monogamous as me, knowing so few queer folk are mono now and we are even more of a minority!

I'm 16yrs my gf's senior and we've been happily monog for 5yrs, and just got engaged. We're out there representing. I do encourage her to book seckswerkers though as her appetite is bigger than mine, but that's different from being open or poly. But she just wants me. Ironically, I wanted to be non-monog when we first met, but seriously don't have the energy for any other lovers.

Hi Julia, have you considered that you may be anemic? I don't eat meat much and I've been feeling so low energy for weeks and I thought it was just depression, but I was so tired I slept all day. I then had a horrible period and I wonder if you're vegetarian, maybe you're feeling the same because of anemia? I finally went to the doctor and they checked my blood. I take some iron now and it's already helping. ❤❤ Please look into it ❤🎶

You can get a degree from any university as an online student now. And a lot of bachelor programs last only 3 years. So if you want to get a degree you absolutely can. Now I don't know what's the situation with tuition in the UK if it's free or not, and if you can study elsewhere for free, since they left the EU. But you still have Brazil as an option, and as far as I know, the tuition is free there. Having a profitable degree is definitely a plus in life (But choose something that won't tie you to a place, like if you finish law, you won't be able to practise it in other countries). You can always pursue your dreams, but you'll have something to lean on if it doesn't work out. You're young, there's plenty of time for everything, don't worry yourself with imaginary timelines.

Julia, please just take a look back at where you were a few years ago compared to where you are now. We always look forward to where we want to be, but we don't take the time to appreciate and respect ourselves for what we have already done. I am exactly the same but when it is someone else you can see it objectively. I am 30 and felt the exact the same this last year. Despite spending a considerable amount of time at university (undergrad and postgrad including a PhD) I was stuck in a job I didn't want to be in. I managed to persevere and have managed to get my foot in the door of where I want to be. Keep working, Ele xxx

Julia I love you! Sometimes when I struggle your videos are the only thing that excites me (something like syrups for you lol). I would like to suggest themes for filming: - Thoughts on books you've read recently - How you do your nails, hair, makeup, etc. Manitainance videos - Videos with your mom - Trying out new simple recipes (like this one for tea - you made me prepare myself a cup of earl grey as soon as I saw you) - Pet care (products you use, what do you feed them) I remember you making a story time video about a trans person and it was great, so more things like that as well. I am glad your mental health is inproving and I wish you get well soon ❤

I feel so much like you about questioning my career choice. I studied cinema because that's what I wanted to do but you can't really do much with that, and at the same time I was studying it a financial crisis crashed my country and then I couldn't get a job at all for years. Now I'm a waitress and sometimes is fine but sometimes I absolutely hate it, I'm 33, I'm with my girlfriend since I was 16 but we can't live together because we don't have enough money and it's sooo frustrating. But at the end is not our fault, our whole generation is struggling with the same problems and is sad and challenging but IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT. I know depression won't let you totally believe it for now but I'm sure you will get better soon

I'm 33 and I haven't done shit with my life. The only good thing that happened to me was marrying a wonderful and loving man. I was in a violent relationship for many years and I wasted too much time trying to mentally heal from all that physical and psychological abuse. I didn't finish my studies because of my traumas, I developed post-traumatic stress and social anxiety, panic attacks and well... I live with that every day. My husband always tells me that it doesn't matter, that it's never too late and to do what I like the most to be happy for the first time, that age is just a number and that we all have different times to do what is socially expected of us. . This year I started uploading videos to KZbin with my drawings and singing, I'm not a good artist or singer, but it helps me with anxiety and it's also something that I always wanted to do and I was afraid to try. Next year I want to study online and maybe over time a little store that will give me independence. What I want to say is... honey, it is never too late as long as you have health and life, never give up and if you are not happy in a place or with a situation, get out of there. Reinvent yourself as many times as necessary, sleep if you want, cry if you need to, try new things, explore... along the way, within all those new experiences, things will appear that will turn out better or worse for you, until you find something that enlightens you again. . I don't know you, but I have depression and I know that place and how difficult it is to see light while there. I really hope you can find the peace of mind you long for and all the happiness. never give up, you have all the time to be everything you want ♡

People will try to put out rumors and just assume things about celebs and KZbinrs and it's sad. Don't worry about KZbin if you are really not feeling well. Your actual followers will understand and will want you to feel well. At least I do. Please take as much time as you need 🎉 Also: it's never too late to look into other jobs. I am currently in school to become a kindergarten teacher and most of the classmates there are learning this as a second or 3rd career. So therefore it's never too late. ❤

Sorry that you’ve been struggling, Julia. The first few years after graduating are so challenging, you’re definitely not alone. It can also be hard to see what you’ve achieved when you’re involved in it every day. You should be proud of what you’ve done so far, and also be open to changing what your dreams look like now that you’re older. Changing dreams is part of life, and it doesn’t mean that you’ve failed. I hope that the things you’re doing now help your mental health so you can feel more like yourself again soon.
