I told my mom, i got teary-eyed when MJ died, I cried when Aaliyah died, I broke down eventually after my father died, but when something happens to Julie Andrews, I'm locking myself in my room and the only way I'll come out is if Beyonce herself drags me out. I LOV E JULIE ANDREWS SO MUCH! She's so classy, so elegant, so beautiful. Reminds me of the grandmother I don't remember but my siblings tell me about.

Yes Julie Andrews is truly gifted and in a class by herself. She's part of the Greatest Generation- that World War II era of people born to greatness and accomplishing great things for humanity - and in this case in the entertainment world. That generation had such spectacular talents - it spawned Robert Goulet and Richard Burton and Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds and Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and Cyd Charisse and Donald O'Connor and Judy Garland and Andy Williams and Steve Lawrence and Carol Burnett and then Barbra Streisand and eventually Celine Dion.

There just aren't any greats like that anymore. That generation that had Andrea Bocelli and Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti were the best.About the only ones who even come close in this day and age are Amy Grant and Ariana Grande.
