My great grandfather herded sheep in the West Highlands. He spoke fluent Gaelic. His mother spoke no English at all only Gaelic. He was somewhat of celebrity in his small are of Scotland. His name was Sandie Murdie. He wrote and sung Gaelic songs. My daughters do highland dancing and they want to learn this beautiful language. Our whole family loves Julie Fowlis.

The people of Scotland have gone far, I’m proud to be one that’s made it as far as Alaska. Made their homes across the world and then some, it’s amazing to see all the descendants of Scotland in Australia, America, New Zealand etc... but we’re all sons and daughters of that island in the Atlantic. Greetings from Tennessee

Fantastic, Julie! Unfortunately, I missed this year's American foray, but will be ready for your next trip. The video is wonderful. I'm a former teacher, but now a long haul truck driver, so I recognized nearly every inch of the roads you took. It's a beautiful country, isn't it! I love listening to your music as I drive, and I believe I once told Duncan how much I enjoyed listening to his trilogy while driving through the open spaces on a clear, starry night. Altogether the perfect soundtrack to a life on the road. Cheers!
