I'm 74. I grew up watching and listening to music like this. Especially Julie London.! She was dreamy as they used to say. She appeared on Laramie some and she was on Emergency with Robert Fuller. She was something.!

Same here.. i mean, first off, it's a fabulous song so can't really go wrong with any version, but Julie's is my top choice - great phrasing, rhythm, speed.

Agreed. This clip showed up on The Complete Mad Men playlist (no surprise there). Everyone dressed. I like that. Before the toxic cult of casual, and then just plain laziness infested our world. Most look like third world refugees nowadays.

She does have a great voice! I have always enjoyed her role on Emergency! too. Today I went to see the animated movie "Bad Guys" and I noticed in the credits that they used a bit of this song with Julie London when one of the characters is singing in the background. I had a feeling it was her!

2 things-a friend from highschool's mom was good friends with her, and my brother's friend's grandmother was her housekeeper--and here's #3-the lovely miss London was the official hostess when newport beach's fashion island opened in 1967-the theme was 'flight to adventure...

@harrietcraig, I instantly thought the same thing. Could it be they were imagining Julie when they created that role? I must say, that I only knew Julie as "Dixie" in one of my favorite shows as a kid. I had never realized her awesome talent as a singer.

Julie was at first reluctant to get on stage back in 1954 - I´m glad she did. The ones that want to become "big stars" and "idols" never amount to anything! The recorded version of this has an amazing arrangement.

This Version sounds like it came from Snazzy Jazz Club where everyone is in their New Sunday Suits on a Tuesday Night around Midnight Slowly Drinking and enjoying the beautiful Night. amazing. I love how she starts off, just sitting there, with her head cocked to the left. She's such a magnetic personality, that you feel - or, at least I do - like it's a show JUST for me. And, remember: she wasn't some young woman. She was - by Hollywood standards - 'middle aged.' But, she's unbelievably sexy. I love MS. London. A beautiful woman is like fine wine. They have lived life, ad, I've always found a mature women magical.
