Oh my. In my humble opinion... to be honest... THIS is Visual Storytelling in the category of EXCELLENCE. I imagine that the newly weds must be thrilled with this video. Bravo and Congratulations... to the happy couple... and to you, Tony, for a beautiful job. Your work inspires.

I started viewing this video with technical videographer eyes, analyzing light, camera angles, traditional b-roll, transitions, timing of scenes, speed... thinking you were playing by the book on the rules of wedding videography... but, somehow, at a no specific time, I got immersed in the story, through the smiles and the voice of the pastor and the guests and forgot about the technical details... I believe that speaks well of your work. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

segrad1 👊🏼 thanks! most of this was shot on either the 35mm 1.4 or 85mm 1.4. Quite a bit of 70-200. Love the 85mm focal length, just wish the RF had image stabilization.

Amazing video! May I ask, What lenses were used in this amazing wedding video?
@TonyMellinger4 жыл бұрын
Pretty much the EF 35mm f1.4L, EF 85mm f1.4L IS, and EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS ii. Also the 100mm was snuck in a few times ☺️

Awesome wedding video and excellent colour grading too. Loved it. Did you shoot this on full hd 60p?
@TonyMellinger4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! For the most part yes. Basically whenever people talk I shoot in 24p. Other than that, I’m almost always shooting 60p.
@SAmassmusic4 жыл бұрын
First off - your stuff is amazing! I have a couple of questions. Are you the only one shooting video or do you have a team? Almost all of your b-roll is in 60fps, right? If you're the only shooter, are you switching settings quickly during the ceremony to get some of those normal shots in 24?
@TonyMellinger4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I usually have a second shooter for weddings. During the ceremony I’ll have my second shooter and a safety camera set on 24fps. This is also the case for speeches and first dances. I’ll keep my camera in 60fps the entire day. I will switch occasionally to 24fps if i am directly filming someone talking in the frame (if I’m recording the first look with audio, or speeches) or if i need low light.

This was so good! what set up did you? Gimbal? Handheld rig? Also what profile? This was great visual storytelling!
@TonyMellinger4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Almost all of it was shot on the DJI Ronin. Shot in LOG and colored so no profile. I don’t ever handhold for weddings, either ronin or monopod, just a personal standard 🤷🏼♂️ thanks for watching!

So what type of lens you use. I'm starting a Videography company and I'm starting with the EOS R and I was wondering how did I hold up
@TonyMellinger4 жыл бұрын
E LITTLE I used for this one a 35mm f1.4L, 85mm f1.4L IS and the 70-200mm f2.8L IS II. I may have thrown a couple with the 100mm 2.8L in as well.

Congratulations! Looks really good! :) Did you also do the photography on this wedding, combining it with making videos in between? And did you use a diffusion filter for a more cinematic look?
@TonyMellinger4 жыл бұрын
Sanddesert no, for this one I hired just for video, they had a separate photographer. The only I filter I used was an ND filter outside to be able to keep my shutter speed at 180 degrees. Other than that just coloring.
@Sanddesert4 жыл бұрын
@@TonyMellinger hi Tony, interesting! I have not worked with an nd filter yet. I know it's core functionality, but does it maybe also introduce in some way a certain level of diffusion so that the skintones and highlight role-off softens a bit just like an diffusion filter or is it just my perception in this particular video?
@TonyMellinger4 жыл бұрын
Sanddesert an ND filter is basically sunglasses for your lens. A good one shouldn’t change the image at all besides exposure. Sometimes I will use the White Balance though to make an image more warm or cold depending on the mood I want. The rest really comes down to color grading. I only use the ND filter when I am outside in very bright circumstances. I use a Tiffen variable ND filter, set my ISO to 400 and then use the ND to set the proper exposure. The coloring and look all comes from the color grading. Hopefully this helps.
