Julie the Naked Ghost: A "True" New Orleans Folktale

Spooky season is upon us, and leading up to Halloween, I'll be sharing with you "true" New Orleans folktales and ghost stories popular among our city's ghost tour guides. The tragic legend of Julie the Octoroon Mistress, who supposedly still haunts Père Antoine Alley in the French Quarter just off Jackson Square, is New Orleans' own take on Romeo and Juliet, and touches on greater truths about Louisiana's troubled past.

@@semiramisbonaparte1627 This comment was explaining a joke in the video. It's not out of nowhere. The joke itself is somewhat flawed in that plenty of older virigins have no issues at all and plenty of sociopaths and psychopaths are promiscuous but as someone who analyzes comedy like that, it's needlessly boring. The issue with this extremely off-hand joke shouldn't be that it's a hitler reference, I think that part was lost on a lot of people (it was on me until I saw this thread).

@@KoreaMojo I'm no psychologist but I remember an AMA with someone claiming to be a "real life psychopath" and the subject of sex came up. He said he honestly had no sex drive, couldn't care less. He had a boyfriend and said it was, in more polite terms, an enjoyable sensation to sleep with him but he didn't crave it like normal people. I got the impression from that and some other comments it's a known thing with psychos. But again, the whole of my knowledge on the subject comes from a reddit thread.

A very late answer, but one theory of viking voyages and raiding actually is lack of marriageable women in Scandinavia since tribal chieftains and notable men would often take several concubines (custom they continued until early Nordic Christianity). One piece of evidence for it is genetics of Iceland, most of it's population has Celtic female ancestors which suggests that the vikings who settled Iceland brought Celtic slave girls abducted from Britain with them.
