20 years from now, when this house is nothing but memories in a picture frame, you will shed tears over those “quirks” all over again, just for a different reason. Enjoy the holidays and special occasions you’ll share here! Life is short 💕 good job mama!

I completely understand some of the upset over the dirtiness, and damage to the house, BUT that is a beautiful cul-de-sac! Like one right out of a book, or movie! Definitely an area y’all can make feel like a true home. I hope y’all make many wonderful memories while you’re there❤️

The way your kids show their appreciation over even the little things is so nice to see. I loved how you said you were going to compare it to anything else. Comparison is the thief of joy. I loved your whole outlook on it…it’s only 2 years. I often find myself comparing and then it just gets depressing. It’s a very nice home and I know there will be tons of love going into it and love is what makes a home. ♥️ Will you have another video of once everything is put together?

I've lived in my house in KC for close to 20 years and had cracks in walls (and driveway) repaired numerous times. Sigh. But the scorching summers to freezing winters, plus not enough rain to too much rain makes things shift around a lot. I can say this last year was terrible for that, my floors actually feel tilted. Lots of people will do mud jacking to try and make things level for a bit. Seems like good sized rooms, so hopefully you guys are settled in and the kids have made new friends to bring laughter and joy to your house. Moving is hard work, you've done great.

It may have a few flaws (don't they all?), but it's really a lovely house & looks like a sweet, quiet cul-de-sac. You're probably homesick, missing what is familiar and what you'd already built. I've been there and had to put on a happy, positive face for my kids. I know that you know it will all be fine and you'll make a million happy memories in this house. That lump in your throat will ease and you'll find your groove.

Oh goodness Julie… you have such a beautiful family! My husband was in the military for 10 yrs and to say we’ve lived in some questionable homes, is an understatement! Haha! But what I learned is “home is what you make it”… the important thing is you are all together, happy, healthy, warm and fed. I used to criticize the homes we would move into down to every crevice. One day, shortly after we moved to new place, my kids were little and I just watched the excitement on their faces. They were so happy and didn’t notice any of the things I criticized in the home. They didn’t care. To them, they were on a new adventure, with new rooms, a new yard, and looking forward to making new friends. That’s when I realized that they only learned the things I would say out loud about our home. And I stopped doing that. Because it was their home too and I didn’t want them to feel like anyone was judging where they felt safe and comfortable at. Now we own our home, and when I don’t like something, I change it and keep the opinion to a minimum about why. Because I know I’m probably the only person in our house that noticed it in the first place and had a problem with it! haha! I think your home is adorable and will be homey and comfortable before you know it! I love older homes because I think of all the memories that were made there before me. And you’re only adding to the storybook of the house! Hope you all have happy holidays and stay warm!

I'm really happy you made it there and you're safe. Thank God. You've probably been there a while by now. We moved into a less than stellar rental almost 2 years ago in a city that isn't what we wanted. Our previous homes were owned by us and well cared for. (We were traveling and 1 of us got deathly sick and needed to be close to hospital. Well, we still need to be here. We are so grateful for the roof over our heads. We've made it a home for now. When we leave, we will be thankful for this old home for keeping us safe and warm and we'll be so grateful to move into our own home again. What am i saying? Similar situation. I understand. Its a means to an end...but i think you'll end up loving this tired home with all its flaws because of the laughter, love and memories youll share there. Sending hugs and love from northern Canada❤❤❤

I’m watching and seeing you point stuff out. I have a prediction, in two years, the landlords are going to be thanking the two of you for how much love you put into tat home and added value to it. Maybe ask them to fix the cracks, and repaint the walls. Ask if they mind if you landscape the gardens a bit, and make it home. I have a rental, and my renters love their home and I encouragement to make it their own!
