Honestly I love regular polish and there’s a lot of benefits to regular polish than using gel especially for natural nails. It goes on quite a bit faster, this polish in particular dries very quickly, but the biggest advantage is it has a very low profile on the nail and the removal is very easy and fast

Hi Suzie! I love your videos. Especially the one's where cameraman does your nails, as I am no pro and can relate much more. Can you please give me any advice regarding why my acrylic nails that just pops off from my nails? What can I improve? I think I am achieving no contact with cuticles, and I acquired an efile and my nail prep is much much better than before. Considering my gel applications last much longer than a week now. But the Acrylic starts lifting around the edges after a day. Could the reason be too much monomer? I also prep my nails with alcohol/ sanitiser as recommended by the brand I am using. Many nail techs indicated that my nails are oily?! and that is why they don't last longer than 2 weeks gel / acrylic.

Interesting, well it doesn’t sound to me like your nails are oily because of the way it’s lifting, that sounds like a preparation adhesion issue. Also be careful of sanitizers often they can have minerals and oils in them to stop the skin from turning white but it could add oils to the nail plate before you start working on the nail. This could be the sole reason for any type of lifting. If you’re getting lifting just around the cuticle it could be from some other things: Application is a little too thick near the cuticle area. Too dry of an application, if you’re using acrylic maybe to drive a bead. It could also be that you’re not removing the cuticle quite enough around that particular area you need a stronger grit or file to remove. Try any of these things and that might help. I will probably lose this thread as I get so many messages. Pls pls help. Followed one of ur older videos to do my sad nails myself during Covid. For some reason when done they crack within hrs. Spent a fortune buying everything a first timer would need. Did a few times same thing. Gave up for a while, until a nail tech told me to buy Nugenisis brand which is what they use in shop. Did that, same thing, within hrs colors crack under top coat. Am I doing something wrong, or is it because my nails are paper thin? Followed all directions to a T. HELP AND THANK YOU

Too thick layers? Is it very humid where you live? Polish doesn't mix well with your body chemistry? There can be many reasons why nail polish takes longer to dry 😊

That’s a good question. I don’t think it would affect it for the appearance as long as they’re compatible. But as far as longevity the biggest concern is if you’re using monomer as a slip, the monomer can get on the skin much more easily and the more often you do that you can develop an allergy over time. So personally I would not use a Monomer to do this plus it’s much more expensive than alcohol. I have found though using 70% isopropyl alcohol seems to be the best

Yes your natural nails have oils in them. And it sounds like your natural nails have a little bit more than you want. But it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with them everybody’s different. There’s a little trick you can do to help the polish last a little longer. See if your mom or parent can get you some acetone but make sure you use it when they are there. A little bit of acetone on the natural nail plate will remove all the oils and hopefully help the nail polish to last a little bit longer. The natural nail will accumulate more oil and eventually push the polish away by doing this little check will buy you some time

Yes I have only seen this a few times I think it’s the quality of the polish. I’m not sure as I don’t see it often but I use really good quality polish and I don’t mean super expensive, I just mean good quality maybe it might not be bubbles maybe it’s dust on the nail they can sometimes look like bubbles

My question is how do you get it to dry all the way? I find when I’m doing designs like that, I can’t ever get the actual design part to dry all the way because the polish is too thick. Is there a trick to it or am I just not waiting long enough ?

I truly love polish too. Unfortunately as a diy’er this beautiful polish is expensive for me. Making a $50 order so you don’t have to pay shipping becomes quite expensive when you’re not making money from nails. Oh well, maybe I can ask the hubby for some at Christmas or my birthday (or for both since I’m a January girl) since it is pricey. Us January kids get jipped out of that extra present day like others get almost all of the time since childhood and beyond.
