I lived on Ditmas Avenue with my Mom and Dad until 1991. Moved to Chicago to study, met my future wife, then emigrated to Australia in 2000. Great childhood there. Every time I’ve been back though, it seems to have lost a bit of its community spirit and togetherness.

57:40 This is near my old hood! Used to live right around the corner from there on 3rd and Albemarle Road. I frequented that Suzi's Roti Parlor spot and Rocky's Pizzeria pretty often when I lived near there. I need to take a walk through there sometime soon.

I def see the gentrification . Sidewalk cafe on Flatbush is just unreal. Dunno what day of the week of time of day but it's nice and quiet and clean. I used to live on Clarkson, Parkside train station used to be crazy out front.

Ahhh! it is great to see the NAME Flatbush, even if I don't see anything familiar. (My Aunt lived by Kings Plaza, in the letter streets BUT NOT alphabet city - the more Jewish family part, at least in the bottom of the last century.)

You really captured Flatbush for real. Most dont know, right across the train tracks is a whole new world for the Yt ppl and more affluent. And the alphabet roads and houses are named after and originally slave owners (look it up)
