I started drinking pinot noir in the late 80s when I realized I could not afford Burgundy wines. It has been fun exploring the various places. When I was in Argentina a few years back, had a colleague who regaled me with many great ones. They visited the US and I told them about great US wines and I served pinots from various areas in the US. He was hooked and went back to Argentina in search of local pinot noir...and he found some great ones!

Appreciate the info on pinot noir, but would be better to lead with that. Rather than advertising the wine club first, do that last before signing of.

@gurgisjones1120 OLDER than that. Pinot noir is documented by Roman historians as early as 75 AD. Wine making in general goes back 7000+ years.
@electrictroy2010 Жыл бұрын
@gurgisjones1120 THE oldest grape family is Muscat which dates from 2000 BC (ancient Egypt). It comes in several varieties .

Hi Matt, interesting! I've never tried Oregon white Pinot. Is it made from Pinot Blanc or white made from Pinot noir?

How much time has to pass for aging a wine when it goes from the young to the more aged and fuller characters? (I understand this can be variable)
@YouTubeJulien4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kent, tx for stopping by. Yes indeed, it can be very variable. I guess on an affordable Pinot Noir, a fruity and quiet affordable one, like a Bourgogne Pinot Noir or say a $25-$40 US Pinot, I'd say you can give it a 3-5 years to mellow it up a little, temper the fruit and get some of the forest flour starting to come out, a little longer if you're brave or you have a few bottles of it and you find after 3-5 years it's still not quite there. Now if we're talking more 'serious' (and expensive Pinot), could be anywhere between 10-15y to 20, 30, sometimes more if we talk Grand Cru Burgundy in a great vintage for example. Hope this helps and answers your question? btw, have you watched my 'how and why to decant video yet: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqmpiXd6nsulhdk WOuld be curious to hear what you think of it. Santé 😃🍷

@YouTubeJulien4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. Glad to hear you enjoyed it :-) Yes, I like Merlot when it's good, but it is a complicated grape to grow and make as a good wine, it's not everywhere you can do so, but it turns out fantastic when it's in the right place. Pinot Noir is more forgiving I think...

Hi Arun. Sorry to hear about your father's condition. I must say I don't know about best healthiest Pinots, I'm not a Doctor. Guess if he can't have alcohol, he might have to try some non-alcoholic wines? If you google "alcohol free wines' you should be able to find a few things. Hope this helps :)
