My goodness that was so bad it was funny. I started watching episodes a few days ago and was impressed, thinking I should have watched Juliet Bravo when it first aired but this episode was dire. I'll give it another go but I've had my confidence seriously dented.

I remember one episode been so poor this must be the one it definitely got more grittier under Anna Cartaret but there were episodes still good under Stephanie Turner but not this one.

I know. This is deliciously diabolical. I've never seen so many people hamming it up so badly in the same episode of any series.

Wild horses mentioned twice. What a lovely mix of Rolling Stones, Shakespeare, Dickens, Thackeray, and Emilie Bronte. The wild dog of Henshaw street. Seems to me this was a game to see how many references the script writer could sneak in, and for the others to spot.

These days the IOPC would class that as a "death following police contact" and the poor PC would be in for years of poor investigation and fingerpointing, before being cleared of any wrongdoing. What a change.

Bizarre episode. Did Keith Dewhurst write many? My estimation of Derek Newark has risen sharply - he handled that unmanageable comedy dialogue beautifully.

Only a couple of days ago, I wasn't quite sure whether Juliet Bravo is a comedy series that fails to be funny, or a drama series that fails to be serious. Now I'm convinced half these people have been told to 'Act in the style of 4th form kids performing a school play' (as requested by Humphrey Littleton, host of 'I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue'.... because it's clear to me these actors certainly don't have one).

God,,,weve gone to Margery Mason in last episode, giving the performance of a lifetime to Vicky Ogden acting like she is in a panto in a script that is truly appalling.

I think the idea is that she's named herself that because she thinks life is like a Mills & Boon novel and the characters have names like that. But as usual with this script, it isn't very convincing.

This must be the worst script in the history of BBC drama. Was it originally intended for a sitcom? But then why the appalling trauma scene? Maybe they promised a slot to the winner of a young writer's competition or something? You can see what Mr Dewhurst was trying to do, but he just can't carry it off and the change in tone from the rest of the series is jarring. The guest actors and director seem to have given up and just played it for laughs as best they can. I feel nauseous.
