An elderly tea lady is brought in for questioning.Over some dodgy cheques she put through.Not a favourite edition of mine but fun in places.Patricia Hayes and Ray Smith guest star.Funny seeing Ray with a fuller head of hair,than his fairly shaved head look in Dempsey and Makepeace a few years after this.First episode with Tony Caunter as DCI Logan also which is good.

This is my first time seeing this U.K. TV series - when it was first aired, I grew up in Rural Ireland and it was never shown on our national broadcaster RTÉ - my Dad, a staunchly traditional Irish Catholic, would not put up an outside antenna, insisting on the old “rabbits ears” as he did not like the “dirty Protestant” U.K. TV channels - I’ve lived here in the U.K. 23 years now, but I still have family in the same village in Rural Ireland where I grew up and I visit them as often as I can 🇮🇪☘️🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My Dad used to do like 40 miles an hour down his own lane between the London traffic jam and the kerb 1966 in his Mini-Cooper S the size of a large roller skate. Had to give it up and drive the Morris Minor 1000 after his 3rd heart attack.

Yes, they had to write her out in series 2 due to contractual problems. Apparently she wanted more money and a bigger part in the series.

Ironically it was written by the same bloke who created The Sweeney - Ian Kennedy Martin. He created The Sweeney and its lead character Jack Regan specifically for John Thaw, however he wanted The Sweeney to be slower paced and mainly studio based and eventually lost out to Ted Childs who wanted a fast paced action drama shot on film and mainly on location. Ted Childs won the battle and took over as the executive producer for The Sweeney tv series following the Armchair Theatre pilot episode "Regan".

My question is British police are very shown very polite with accused in only TV series, unlike Indian police are very brutal with accused as we Indian countinue to follow 125 years Britain's colonial police acts ,now called I.P.C. Indian penal code & charge sheet is called F.I.R. first information report.
