the unity flip to center does work with the micro 3. At least according to Unity store page

I'm a rightie and still flipped my 3 around to flip left to get better eye relief. Also puts it on the same side as weapon light. Along with making it easy to flip with off hand. Ymmv.

The reason they flip to the right by default is so it's out of your line of sight when not in use. You're supposed to shoot red dots with both eyes open and doing so will grant you much better situational awareness.

@@Mitsurugi2424 yea I have since when back to the right. It sucks for eye relief. But after moving the weapon light also to the right it does make for better vision. My buddy 'scoped' himself with it when flipped to side on the left. Which convinced me to try the other way. Just wish I could get it back another inch. Gotta keep it collasped well below perfered length of pull. To get close enough to have a good picture.

I think you have the diopter out on the 5x making it look “longer” but they are damn near the same size.

Great video. I am running the Juliet 5 with the Romeo 5 and it's really nice since everything co-witnesses perfectly with my Magpul flip sights. I'm also looking at getting a 1-10x Sig LPVO to see how that compares.

@DoS Gaming Network Thanks! The factory mounts do co-witness really well with everything. I’ve looked at a lot of the MSR 1-6 stuff and have been curious how well the glass and clarity holds up for the 1-10.

@His Righteousness I have not yet. Those sound like they work best for night vision which I do not have. Yet. So probably something I’ll look into once I can get some night vision.

Great video comparison! It looks like the 5x can be flipped for us lefties so it’s not in my field of view. Is that correct? In other words, can I switch it to flip to the left? Thanks for your help!

@alex8330 absolutely. Yes it can be flipped. I have it flipped on one of my setups. You just have to pull the button with your finger instead of push it with your thumb. But I have no problem operating it that way.

I would say the zeroing issue is a faulty optic not a missing feature. Should have replaced or warranteed it.

@Mitsurugi2424 It is faulty. that's why I noted it and wanted to warn people that it's an issues I've seen in many other comments and videos from people and that if you order one and have the same issue don't be surprised. I'm not sure if Sig has solved the problem yet in manufacturing?

@@willman43 Yeah that's the Romeo5 XDR and Juliet5 combo. It's an amazing deal if you plan on never changing the mounts. I changed my mounts to the Unity Tactical FAST for my Romeo5 and Unity Tactical FAST FTC Omni for my Juliet5. That flip to center instead of flip to side is an absolute game changer. Unfortunately, the Romeo5 XDR's mount is part of the housing of the red dot and not removeable.

Nice Video! Do you have a sweet spot in distance for both of them? For the 3 vs the 5? What is the distance sweet spot for the 3? And same question for the 5…

@MrTs2art thanks for watching! I think you’re asking like typical targets I’m engaging? Both reddots are zeroed for 50yards which gets me out to 200ish yards with no hold over. As of right now my range only lets me get out to 100 and that’s perfect for the 3x the 5x is a little strong but allows for more accurate shots. The 5x will really shine at 200+ yards once I have access to longer ranges.

Just bought romeo 5 red dot and juliet 5x magnifier. Cant wait to try them out on my 16" S&W Sport 2. I had a vortex strike eagle 1-8 second focal plane but was not happy with it.

I cannot get my Juliet 5 to center up with the dot on my Romeo 5. I’ve tried the dial adjustments and they don’t do much for centering. The dot sits off to the right in the middle..

@declineofthewest. If you check out my review of the Juliet 3 I have the same problem with no ability to adjust. (Luckily it’s stuck in the center) The 5x works but not the 3x. I’ve also seen lots of other reviews where people experienced the same problem with their Juliet’s. Not sure if you’re still able to return or if you’ll have to contact Sig about resolve the problem?

I think this is just a defect of the magnifier. Both on your 3x and their 5x. Those turrets on the top and side are meant to adjust where the magnifier is centered. A non adjustable one wouldn't have them.

I have the 3 but man I bought a Eotech Exps3-2 and bought the G43 and G45 and lemme tell you I thought the Sig was great until I looked thru the Eotech! The Eotech smashes the sig with ease. Anyways I learned buy once cry once… also I bought the QD mount from the long juliet that has no button and man what a diff, I also put my sig romeo xdr on a American Defense QD mount and it made a HUGE diff with it holding perfect zero….. anyways thank you for the review

do eotech magnifiers line up and play well with sig dots? as much as i want holographic.... the battery life compared to sig's romeo4xtpro or 8h/t's 50,000 hours is a feature that would be hard to give up.

@andrewstanley it’s all going to depend on dot Mount/height matching up with the magnifier height. If you get a matching set from unity then your set. Your broke after mounts, optic, and magnifier. But your set

Really annoying is the official spec sheets from Sig show a 2mm difference in the length of the 2 models.

@@3200ish when you measure the two, are they the same height? If you look at the tops of them from the side, the 5x has this little "gap" where as the 3x doesn't have one. It might be mere millimeters, but it makes a difference on an omni mount.

I have a Juliet 5 on the way and wanted to get Sig Sauer’s “JULIET Flip Away Mount” because it’s an updated QD mount for the magnifier but in the description it says “for use with Juliet 3/4/6 models only” but after watching your video, they looked the exact same so I’m not sure why Sig’s website says that. Thank you!

@@tysonbridges9179 This is the setup I’m running and the QD mount is waaaaay better than that weird push button one that it comes with which I noticed a slight amount of movement with, the QD mount feels much better with zero movement in the lockup

@@tysonbridges9179 I've also heard it's the same. I've got a Juliet 3 (normal, not micro) on my main gun and it has a fantastic QD mount with a very nice flip to side action. Going to get the Juliet 5 micro to replace it with and toss the 3 on my pistol, but will be switching out the 5 mount with the 3's (hopefully).

I just bought the 5 today, I'll have it tomorrow, I've run the 3 for over a year & the top adjustment on mine is grea,t no problems at all. I was reading in a reviews comment section someone said the same thing about a 5 they received. no adjustment .

@@theflypilot i haven't been able to use it at the range or in outdoor conditions yet but so far so good, Ive heard some say the eye relief is really tight, i get a little more on this 5 then i do on my 3 so yeah i can say im happy with it. i have the 3 set up on a unity flip to center, im gonna do the same thing with this one, i thought i could get away cheap & buy a c hina knockoff mount but the knock off is off somewhere it makes the magnifier hang far to the right & there's not enough adjustment to reel it in

I got myself Micro 5 after looking through different optics. LPVOs are good but heavy, cumbersome and still require some eye alignment behind the scope even at 1x, not comparable to the ease of use of the red dot in close range. 3x magnifier is next to useless imho it provides only very minimal help in field conditions. Its almost not worth its own additional weight.

@Beka Jikia agreed LPVOs are heavy. The 3x I think is ideal if you are in a more urban setting and don’t have all the open space but still like to see out there. But it gives a much better field of view.

How do you like it so far? I'm kinda looking a Juliet 5 for the same reason. I have a low end 3x magnifier (tacticon) I'm just at wits end. It works okay but fish eyes like crazy, it's heavy, and blurs the red dot. Was looking at a juliet 3 and figured what the hell for 50 extra bucks I could get a 5x magnifier which is more magnification than I'd ever need. 3x is okay but a little under powered past 200 yards.

@Samuel Neil I have really liked it so far for my application. The dot remain clear and clean. No starbursting. Really nice for identifying targets. But the 5x is slower/harder if transitioning to targets closer than 200 yards due the the narrow fov.

@@samuelneil2691 If you are looking for a magnifier get the Micro 5x. Can't say the dot is crisp but you can adjust the eye position and learn with practice how to aim. It will be the same with every red dot magnifier unless you switch to holo sight. I do not know what the weight of your magnifier is but magnifiers are not as light as red dots. Explore the option of fixed prism sight as well.
