Before the dreaded covid, I went with a few of the lads to Belguim & we stayed in Brakel & did the three rides from oudernade blue, yellow & red. All the routes are marked but it’s best to download the gpx file for three fantastic days out. Instead of stopping at the Muur Juliet, you should have continued to the Bosberg & stop in the great cafe at the summit.

Just stumbled over this great video from a random link. Really enjoyable and great at last to find a cycling blog facing up to realities of the climate crisis and promoting travel by train to go biking in Europe. I had thought us cyclists were aware of doing our bit and making some small changes to preserve the planet for future generations, but by the number and frequency of short flights being taken for a few days in Spain, or Majorca just for winter sun I seem to be wrong. Well done Juliet. More please !

Carbon bikes are soulless and fragile (weight or speed isn't everything unless you're a professional rider) I prefer old school steel or aluminium - only my opinion though. I'm still riding my Made in USA Yo Eddy mountain bike made in 1997. I could ride all these roads but I would never win a race. The pleasure of riding a quality hand-made bike is the main thing for me.

What has cycling got to do with Brexit!
@flitsertheo2 жыл бұрын
The first obstacle to face for any British cycling team wanting to perform in the EU will be a mountain of red tape to climb. Among other things is the need for a "carnet", a detailed account of each and every object they are bringing with them, from the smallest screw to the largest bike. Miss anything and the result could be taxes, fines and delays. Same as other performers such as musicians. If the filming of Juliet is considered professional (making her a revenue on KZbin for instance) then she will require a work permit for the EU country she is filming in. And to say none of this existed before Brexit, not for British citizens anyway.
