First, it helps to have a $30,000 dollar flute. ahahahaha

It depends on player really ;p Some pro players have basic silver flutes, some others have very expensive ones, but it all depends of their feeling with given model of flute The best advice for being better is to practise and try to relise tension from lips and face generaly to specially when you play upper notes

I dont need expansive flute i play in every FLUTE. THE expansive flutes dont make a virtuose flute player like me .

Even the low end Pearl 665 flute is extraordinary, and it's all you need to get the job done. I have sampled $10,000 flutes that didn't play as well.
