Made myself a skirt in Ankara fabric this weekend. It looks great on a hanger but not on me 😢. The suggestion was 2yds gathered but it is too much on my frame. I can’t face unpicking it all! I’ll have to though. Love how fun the fabrics are. Your projects are great.

Hi Juliet, what lovely garments, all of the fabric is fabulous. It’s so good to see you on your channel again. I’ve missed you. You asked how we stored our A4 patterns. I store mine in plastic A4 envelopes, the type with the little snap at the back, they are very inexpensive in fact I bought a dozen from Aldi. Congratulations on writing your book. I look forward to seeing you again soon.🇦🇺🧵🪡

Juliet I must say what a beautiful video you shared with us. Your makes are JUST AMAZING. What a joy to see you sew with our native ANKARA AFRICAN WAX FABRICS. Your choice is great and those patterns are a great example to see African fabric worn in cotton some of the fabrics you mentioned are also mixed that is fine. Beautiful like you and this encouraged people to go out and buy African Fabrics it can be 100% cotton or mixed it is just colourful but great for summer. Brava to you and thank you so much for sharing XXXX

"I don't feel like being a genius." I love it! LOL. Your authenticity is so appreciated. Your pics are beautiful. I'm doing wayyyy too much - planning to mix patterns and draft items with very little time to go. I'm a bit too excited to be properly participating in the Ankara Appreciation Week challenge this year. 😅 Your picks and pairings are beautiful.

My goodness, how beautiful!!!! I particularly loved the first one with the hidden button placket!!! But the rainbow dress was astounding! I also love how you adjusted the second pattern to suit you. Wise choice! For my patterns, I have them printed at my local sew shop A0, and I roll them and store them standing up. I trace all of my patterns to preserve the original.I

Now this is an organised idea. I need to create sew rooms as well as a neat storage for the patterns. Do you iron out the paper patterns before using them?

First; congratulations on the books❣️. A labour of love! Second, the Ankara fabric creations are stunning…my favourite is the swirly striped dress, so flattering on you. I did giggle at your resistance to sewing a dress that was going to take too much brain power…I have had that reaction a few times too. And sometimes a fabric lives in our stash simply to give visual pleasure and spark our creative juices…that’s my story and I am sticking to it lol. Last, your request for how to cover your back in the open dress (another stunner😍) the black tank top certainly worked but perhaps you might cut it up and insert it permanently? It has good stretch and eliminates the thicker straps. All were beautifully done, so happy for you to get in some solid and peaceful sewing time. Congratulations again on your accomplishments ❣️. Stay safe 🙏🏻

We are waiting here in the US to get our hands on the GBB book. Love all your makes, and glad to see I’m not the only one who pieces together all the teeny pieces of my interfacing. I batch sew, batch cut, and batched interfacing just last week. Still, scraps of interfacing!

Fabulous Juliet - such an inspirational video. I love Ankara fabric but do struggle to find ways to sew it that work for me. I love your Bloomsbury - your style and fabric choice realty transform a top that can look quite fussy. Also the Belemnite. I have that pattern but would never have thought of the waxprint option. For the sundress - I think I might try a simple white tee or body suit with a very short sleeve as a layering piece.

Wowww, all garments are beautiful styles. Great fabrics.like the last one with a white blouse and big sleeves i think can work. How did u wear it? U keep pieces of interfacing in a box instead growing it away. I do the same vous u can use those pieces no need too trow it away ;-)
