This dance between Ariel-Sierra and Eric-Sean are so beautiful. I really wish that this Broadway musical had been a live action movie and on dvd with Sierra Boggess as Ariel, Sean Palmer as Prince Eric and the rest original cast from the Broadway musical since I saw it. It's so much in this musical that I love.

I remember when I was in the little mermaid, we went and sang at Barnes and nobles, and the guy who played grimsby came, wearing his costume, which was a thick velvet suit with knee high, boots. And it was sooooo hot outside. But he had a great time! We all did.

Actually it's the other way around. Sierra played Christine in the Las Vegas version of Phantom in 2006. It was there that she caught the attention of a Disney executive who watched her performance. They asked her to audition for TLM on Broadway. While she was doing TLM in 2008 Andrew Lloyd Webber called her to do a workshop for Love Never Dies. But he never saw her in Mermaid. It was through her success of LND that led Andrew to cast her in the 25th Anniversary concert of POTO.

Actually, Les Poissons came before Be Our Guest. The Little Mermaid was made in '89 and Beauty and the Beast in '91. Just a fun fact. =D This is one of the cutest numbers I've ever seen! And I've seen alot! I love this song! XD ♥

I wonder how old Sean Palmer was when he started acting. Well, I mean performing. Must've started off VERY YOUNG!!! Sean Palmer, as I understand is EXACTLY 18 years older than me. I just so happen to share the same birthday as him. January 23. Only he was 1971, and I was 1989. Well, that's the ONLY thing we have in common. Nothing more I assure you.

A little detail that I just noticed: during the entire song, whenever they waltz his hand is on her waist and her hand is on his shoulder. It is the "classic" way. He is trying to lead her through the song, introducing her to a new way of speaking. At the end, Ariel reverses it, putting her hand on his waist. In that moment, she is letting him know that she wants to tell him something.

The reprise of Les Poissons was written as an inside joke for the writers and composers. Its, not so subtle, similarities were put in by the original composer of both songs, Alan Menken. You can tell that he has put in his own opinion of the film to stage transfer for both shows into the song.

@defygrav12 Les Poissons was written well before Be Our Guest. The Little Mermaid came out in 1989 while Beauty and the Beast was released in 1991. And if you don't like that there's a similar melody then take it up with Alan Menken. He composed "both" of these films and was apart of creative process for "both" of the Broadway productions as well.
