I disgree with This he couldn’t he hit licht at all meaning he couldn’t kill him any faster than it would have took to detain him. Would Julius have won without his sacrifice probably but it would have taken just as long if he was trying to kill William. It’s one thing to hold back a hit or pull back speed but he was out classes in speed anything he thew would have been dodged all he had to due was put William in a time chamber stasis but he literally couldn’t hit licht. Meaning no matter if he was going for a killing blow or not it the same outcome would have happened in the long run or him dying to save his people l

Also we saw what happened after he used that jutsu on him. It doesn’t matter what he would do he simply can’t defeat Orochimaru. Even Orochimaru said that Hiruzen should have been 10 years younger to be able to kill him

It’s one of the reasons why people didn’t like Black Clover at first because it was just a blatant copy of Naruto. I like Black Clover but even with that I can still admit that it is a blatant copy of Naruto just retextured with a change of setting and power system to a degree and that’s it.
