Not true though. Batteries are expensive and judging by the size of the set-up he would need a lot of batteries. Grid tie set-up is the way to go if you want faster ROI but disadvantage would be when blackouts.

You have an array of solar panels facing one direction and another array facing the other direction and angled differently. That could contribute to inefficiencies, unless you've got optimizers attached to each panel. Or maybe it's just Meralco's net metering ripping you off by buying your excess power at ultra-cheap rates.

Nakanet metering ka na po? If reverse ikot ng metro mo and hindi ka pa naka net metering, ibig sabihin nageexport ka kay meralco and it could mean na imbes na bumaba ang bill, posibleng tumaas pa. Not necessarily this case pero highly recommended na pag wala pa net metering, dapat po ay naka export control ang solar to prevent export habang wala pa net metering. I assume na naka export control ka naman now but u should not see reverse na ikot ng metro if this is the case. Dapat nakastop lang (solar is enought to supply hoise load demand) or forward (consuming merlaco pag kulang solar production versus load demand) If wala pa net metering (kasi nde pa napapalitan ng digital meter ang meralco meter niyo), then ang savings mo ay hindi fully 16k pesos dahil under export control scheme, ang solar will only produce what the daytime load demands. Kung ano lng kelangan ng bahay, un lng itry isupply ng solar. Usually ang households consumes about 30%-40% of their TOTAL DAY DEMAND sa umaga and the rest sa gabi. So that means, assuming nacover ng solar ang daytime demand mo ng kuryente, about 30%-40% savings lng den ang savings mo from solar if wala ka net metering sa gridtie system (no batteries).

I went for hybrid system.. para hndi ako 100% dependent sa grid.. excess power generated from Solar will be saved to my batteries at almost 1:1 ratio.. si Meralco bibilin ung excess energy sa Solar mo ng 1:2 (50% rate) lang.. The mentioned 270w panels were installed years ago, during that time 270w were the highest and most efficient panels available in the market. Just because mataas and 650w doesn't mean it would be the best solar panel to install. There are a lot of considerations to be made, like the weight and the size. If you were to upgrade, it would be very wasteful to dispose of the 270w panels in exchange for new panels when they are still highly productive.

Sir julius sana hybrid inverter ang pinakabit mo. Para kung gusto mo mag upgrade after few years, you can just add lifePo4 batteries. Mas malaki ang matitipid mo. Though dapat complete ang protection ng battery bank (with bms and balancer). I do agree the opinion of others na sana mas better wattage rating ang kinabit sa additional 22 panels. Can i ask regarding panel connection, how many panels in series and parallel? Kindly ask also the contractor if they installed CT limiter?

Your problem is that you have a flat roof and your pv solar panels are installed flat, the panels should be facing perpendicular towards the sun (South where I live). Got a quote from a solar installer here in Virginia USA to have a 33 pv solar panels at 370W each with enphase micro inverter (12.21KW ) grid tied system installed for around $32,400 less 26 percent federal tax credit for 2022 (it cost $2.60 to $3.30 per watt to install here in VA USA). I'm planning to go green and help the environment.

Have you seen all fix farm solar system are all installed not lying flat it's tilted. It's installed tilted facing the sun because of the sun peak hours of about 5 hours used to calculate have big your system will be. If you can afford install a movable solar panel systems that will rotate to follow the sun and adjust it's angle automatically it's available but very expensive.

If it's installed flat and string inverter is used not micro inverter or optimiser when it rains and water pooling on the panels it's like it's shaded because rain water will not run off and dirt will accumulate on the panels. Just Google how to install on a flat roof and you can see a good installer used a tilted leg on the install it's more expensive though. Most of the houses here in USA have a pitch roof and using asphalt shingles and installed facing South not North. Experiment using a flash light in an angle shining a flat surface vs a tilted surface the light rays on the flat surface are not concentrated as compared to the one that is tilted.

If may reverse movement yung metro, something is wrong. Tendency, that reverse movememt could be also metered and billed. If you do not have net metering, reverse flow should be prevented with relays.

Kung ako yan mas mag invest ko sa big battery bank. 24 hours a day wala talagang consumption sa Meralco basta meron sunshine sa umaga.

Hahaha. Actually sir julius also has a big battery bank but the challenge with it din kasi is that it will only last 3-5 years and also it comes with a big price.
