I have a solar power system set up for a 6.2kWp grid-tied system, and it's really worth it. My electric bill is between 2 to 3 thousand a month from a supposed 15-18k monthly bill. I'm on net metering too. One of the biggest mistakes that I made was when I only opted for grid-tied, and now I am planning to upgrade it to a Hybrid System with a battery. For those of you who are planning to install solar, please do so. It was Slater Young who helped me decide, not only on the installation of the solar power system but also on the construction of our dream home. Thanks, Slater!

This isn’t hate speech but a fact check. The solar energy system has been known for ages. If governments genuinely prioritized citizens' welfare, they would have made renewable energy accessible long ago. But instead, they favor big players-the large energy and oil companies. As a result, only the wealthy can currently afford solar power. I don’t have anything against the rich; I’m also working hard to achieve financial success. One day, I hope to afford solar power, not just for myself but to help my community, especially during power outages caused by disasters.

We have a 6kw system JA + Huawei with 30kw Luna battery back up. (Initially grid-tied lang pero nag hybrid na inverter na kami para minsanang gastos sa labor and stuff, added batteries during a week long power outage a year ago since may konting disposable naman kami) Our monthly bill is -600 to -1300 pesos a month, with air conditioning 24/7. Hybrid setup, battery is only used during outages. At night we consume the power back from Meralco which was “deposited” during daytime. Net zero kami and all our appliances are inverter, energy star, LED lighting etc. We produce around 21kw of power a day and consume just 15-17kw. The most we spent is pay a carpenter 500 pesos to mop our solar panels twice a year. The battery isn’t used much so projection for lifespan is around 15 - 20 years which is fine with us vs buying a big generator and liters of fuel just to keep our life running smoothly during typhoons and such. If magpapakabit ka palang, please, might as well pay a bit more for a hybrid inverter kasi for sure gugustuhin nyong magpakabit ng batteries, it’s life changing plus minsanang aberya and gastos nalang.

Idk bakit maraming mas ginugusto yung hybrid or mag pa upgrade ng hybrid, kasi sobrang efficient niya and reliable. Yes totoo din naman kasi na yan na yung pinaka "best" upgrade na pwede natin makuha sa solar powered system but initially hindi talaga siya budget friendly. If you're just looking for something to cut down your bill or atleast minimize the cost then I suggest yung grid tie na lang muna kasi bukod na mas mura siya, hindi ka na mamomorblema pa sa battery or maintenance and even sa replacement. Hindi ka na talo sa grid tie setup with net metering lalo na kung business owner ka at yung business mo malakas kumain ng kuryente. Totoong mas mabilis roi mo niyan lalo na kung may business ka like laundry, etc

13:42 Huawei should correct you on this. The batteries in your Huawei product use LFP cells. In short, it has "at least" 10 years of useful or cycle life.
@starscream3441
@starscream3441 5 ай бұрын
It might be 6-7 years if you are expecting to use 100 % DoD. Normally for LFP Chemistries you're looking at 80 - 90 % DoD. Again the DoD figure depends on the Specifics. Also you have to take into consideration the climate. It's more humid in the Philippines than here for us in ZA. so that greatly reduces their lifetime.

So far, total cost I have is around 75KPhp. 60% of the cost comes from the battery. From having an electric bill of 3-4.5K per month, nasa 350-700Php nlang ngayon. Dahil may battery, may kuryente ako kahut brownout. Just pointing out that what he's doing is a very good investment. Especially, if ikaw mismo gagawa.

Me i will go for grid tied first. I am ok to have brown out. Its not always. Plus my house is just gonna be around 150sqm and will be a efficient house that i dont have to always turn on my AC. If i have a budget already after i got my roi for solar panel maybe i will just add battery enough to power lights and charge phones and internet and water pump. I think that is the most practical way to have solar. Efficient house plus lots of solar. Then just battery for emergencies enough to cover basic neccessity needs.

If you're in a relatively stable PU area, the most sensible would be a hybrid grid tie system with a minimal amount of battery - say for powering efficient DC fans, your internet gear or Starlink. during hours long outages. Once I build my retirement home, this will actually be my plan - maximized Solar Panel coverage and around 2-5KW of Battery Storage that will only be used "sparingly". I will still have a Diesel Genset though for those really long post-typhoon power failures (or I go somewhere else while waiting for power to be restored).

ROI depends on how much energy u use, the sun, efficiency of your panels, inflation and how much the energy company is willing to pay for your energy. Dito sa Australia it takes 10yrs+ to get ROI. Unlike sa pinas na laging may araw and 2 seasons lang. So sulit talaga magpa solar sa pinas.

Thanks for sharing this informative video! It's great to learn more about solar energy. However, I couldn't help but notice at 1:55 there's exposed wiring between the solar arrays. In the US, it's standard practice to enclose PV wires in EMT conduit to comply with building codes and ensure safety. Considering the investment made, it's surprising the contractor overlooked this crucial detail.

Solar Panels have become dirt cheap. Sana you did an itemized breakdown so we can compare it to today’s prices. As I understand, panel prices might have gone down by 50% or more. Not sure about batteries but am sure it’s also gone down significantly since lithium prices collapsed by 80% from its peak. Just to give you an idea, a Jinko 550W panel is only 4,900 or cheaper. The thickest hardiflex board which is roughly the same size is 1,600 I think. A glass door with the same size as a solar panel would be more expensive. So are panels cheap? Yes! Thinking that payback could be achieved in 2-3 years given our expensive power rates.

Hi, I am planning to install Solar soon. However, I heard of stories that there are instances when there are powerful typhoons solar panels can be ripped off from their installation panels. Will this be a concern or will this depend upon how good the installers are? Can you also recommend a credible, affordable brand and installer, please? Thanks, Slater
