Let me start off by saying THANK YOU for sharing this!!! To make a long story short my wife's S7 Edge was stolen, about 5 days later we got it back but the thief put a pass code on it soooo........ took to Verizon who reset the phone which then google locked it. Called Verizon (nothing they can do) called Samsung "wait 24 hrs and reenter you gmail credentials again" (it didn't work) 36 hrs later called Samsung "send us all the proof of purchases within 72 hours and we will send you a shipping label so you can send us the phone for repair." Done sent within 3 hours!!! 3 days later still waiting for a reply email from Samsung when i happened across your You Tube video and it worked!!! worked best for me using another phone as a hot spot

Thank You! I setup a new S7 Edge for an employee. He didn't have a gmail account so I set one up for him. I DIDN'T WRITE DOWN THE ACCOUNT INFO!!!!! A few months later he quit. He was very helpful, he had his son wipe the phone before he turned it in. He didn't know the password, as he never used the account...

Worked perfect for me on a galaxy s7 Verizon security patch May 1, 2016. Was able to do it on the first try really easy. I did however use the CC option on here so I could read what he was saying instead of listen and it was easier for me so I was distracted by the noise.

As of now my phone doesn't offer an update, so I wasn't able to test any further patches. I've got a couple S7 Edges, and S6 / S6 Edge/+ phones I tried it on, and all were up to date (according to the OS), and were able to bypass with this. A couple Verizon, two AT&T, and a T-mobile.

after I turn my Hotspot off it just says "there was a problem communicating with Google servers. try again later." instead of what yours says and when I hit next it takes me back to the wifi screen. any suggestions? Also your video is the only video with the same setup wizard layout as mine, all the other layouts have the terms and conditions page and mine does not. I'm trying to do this for my father-in-law, and hes not the most computer/ smart phone literate person, so he locked himself out and im trying to fix it to where he can use the phone again, and i haven't had any luck as of right now.

It sounds like you aren't killing the WiFi connection at the right time. when it hits the update screen give it half a second before killing WiFi. try that and see if it gets you through.

I found something different. Mine had the Sprint Zone app nagging me during the Google sign-in, so I went in it. I swiped the screen's left side to bring up the menu. Clicked on Sprint News and selected any of the links to open the browser..

What firmware, and version of Android? You either have to downgrade your firmware, or if on Android 5.x use the camera method.

I tried a Galaxy s7 for Sprint. This method did not work for me. I tried without factory resetting the phone at the final step and it worked. I mean, after inputing your own Google account in the browser sing in window, I just restarted the phone WITHOUT doing the factory reset. The phone woill restart and say that there is a Google account already in the system and you can bypass the process to the home screen. Then I went to settings, removed all accounts that I added to the phone (Samsung/Google) and I did a fatory reset directly from setting and again after removing all the accounts and I previously set it to do the bypass. After that, the phone would turn off the FRP in the download mode. The phone will have a fully account clean first setting process.

Ok, so it wasn't asking for a WiFi, because i had my sim card in and it was connecting through Verizon. Now when i shut off my WiFi, it doesn't give me the option for the date/time after i hit next. I've done this a couple of times now, and it's the same thing.

Alright, so here's the update. You're awesome! It worked, but I had a couple of hiccups. 1. my SIM card was in, and it wouldn't give me an option for wifi, because it used my data for "updates." 2. When i was connecting to wifi and turning off my modem, it didn't give me an option for name/date setup. I had to set up the mobile hotspot from my computer, and then it worked. So thank you SO much! The Verizon store didn't help me at all.

It's not just the July patch, as the Verizon July patch let's you still access the "Clear Data" button. It's carrier specific. However, I am exporting the new video, and will be uploading it in a few minutes. Granted it's a couple gig in size, so I'm not sure how long until it will be completely uploaded and processed by KZbin. But it's coming tonight!

No need to apologize. I was directed to give my S7 Edge a hard reset and walked through the process by a Samsung tech on Samsung support chat. He neglected to tell me that I would need to be able to recall my :Owner's account password (which I didn't) so I had to reset the password in the process. The Samsung tech said this was taking too long, and left me hanging. Told me to call him back when I had figured out how to get into the phone. Now I am locked out of my phone (apparently for 72 hours) until Google applies the new password. What a pain!
