You would think if Universal were to build a theme park in Europe then it would be more centrally like Germany with many surrounding countries. Being English i really hope it happens here and can't wait for the construction footage.

Knowing big companies and governments, they usually say the quiet part loud and the loud part quiet. They usually do this behind closed doors without the consent of the people. Universal Studios United Kingdom is already a done deal because they know what the people in this country want.

I agree, I think there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than we know.

I hope they will get permission to build the park. That would save halve the travel time and costs, would make the timezone difference a lot smaller (just 1 hour instead of 6), and would save a lot of pollution by being able to travel a much shorter distance by car or train instead of needing to travel long distance by plane.

Not really. There’s a lot of planning and permissions that are required before any real work starts

Not at all. Once planning is granted it's unlikely that we'll see anything major until next year at the earliest other than planned work on Wixams station and the bridge over the Bedford to Bletchley railway.

What should be happening? Surveys on the ground and other advance work will be needed. There were vans parked there the other day with people walking around. Definitely don’t expect construction any time soon. And god forbid they find any type of rare insect or bird or water life. Work will stop completely for years probably.
