@@mikeb1039 yikes dude. Just think. The debris she put in that pot came out as soil. That means there is biological activity in that soil, full stop. Either she had special potting soil, added biological activity, or bacteria got into it via the air or the plant brought some along. I love permaculture and have for years. I frequent permies. But please, tone it down. hugelkultur literally means mound culture. You put soil on debris and it breaks down the debris over time fertilizing from below. That is very much the same thing happening in this video in at least _some_ way.

@@blackbird1234100 They heat the soilless mix to a set temperature. thats called sterilizing as it kills the bacteria and other microorganisms, such so it doesn't grow into something funky while it sits in the bag. It doesn't need to STAY sterile.....maybe try a clue. Or READING THE BAG............ yikes.

Wow the final product looks so beautiful. Can I use coarse sawdust/wood shavings for the brown material? I do no not know the wood type but what's available to me comes in white and red. I've used the white shavings in my rose potting mix which seems to be working well so far.
