Love your content. As a single person I would love to see you do a budget even just for the week just based on your income alone to see how you would budget that based on your current expenses.

can’t recommend Japan enough as a smaller overseas trip for aussies, it’s relatively inexpensive and just a beautiful place. even a week is enough to really take it in!! ❤️

I’ve been to Japan (back in 2018) and it was amazing! Did Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and a few day trips. It was an excellent two weeks. I spent about $4k.

Just a thought to mention. I know you are paying the mortgage extra. Have you guys estimated how much extras would be with the new home? Trash, electric, water, internet, and alarm/security are just some of the extras. Could be better to throw the extra money to savings to have a much larger cushion and emergency fund.

Ah I’m obsessed. I love the full circle moment of how unsure you were in the last video and how much more direction you have now that you’ve given yourself time to talk about it and actually make decisions that are right for you and your husband 🥰🥰🥰

You could have multiple offsets connected to your home loan. I have 5 different savings accounts for different things snd they all offset my mortgage. Completely recommend.

I would definitely increase the emergency fund before you get a dog. When we got our puppy we ended up having to pay over £11,000 in vet bills. Might be rare but it does happen!

Or save for Pet Insurance! Sadly a lot of dogs come with genetic defects that end up costing you a fortune. And when you have to choose between the suffering of the pet you love, or your finances, it costs you a lot of money.

@@byyoursideentombed Yep. We got pet insurance as soon as we bought our puppy but because he got poorly in the first initial 14 days of the policy they wouldn't cover anything which is why we've spent so much! Definitely need something saved for vet bills just incase x

Is there any reason you calculate monthly bills/expenses by 4 and not 4.33? Also props on being ahead in your mortgage! What a good feeling. I can’t imagine our mortgage being that high compared to our income but it’s worth it to escape being a tenant and to spend it on something that is your own and you can enjoy it more freely!

I budget expenses by 4 because nearly all our bills come out on a monthly basis. Then I can just adjust on the months that there is an extra payment
