Your garden is so lush, healthy, and beautiful Rachel. Where you are being bombarded with rain in Ireland, we in Kentucky in the US have the opposite problem. We had about a half inch of rain for June and less than a fourth of an inch of rain so far in July. Our average temperature this summer has been 90-95 degrees. Needless to say, my garden and lawn are looking somewhat brown in spots. We are hoping for rain and cooler temperatures in the next few months. In the meantime, I'm enjoying your garden tours and gaining inspiration for my own garden. Happy gardening, James

@@GardeningatDouentza Thanks for your well wishes Rachel! Well actually, after two months of this nightmare, we are forecast for heavy rain tonight and tomorrow. The best part is the heat is finally letting up starting tomorrow. We are going back to our normal 78-85 degrees days! No more 95-100 degrees days at least for the next ten days! I can finally get back out in my garden and get some work done. Hoping you get some sunny, drier, and warmer weather in Ireland, James

Hydrangas have really loved the wetter weather. I always look forward to the Thariculum and Angels fishing rods flowering. Porcelain vine seems to have done well loverly foliage with the promise of magic berries. Thanks for sharing. It's a Sunday treat.

@@GardeningatDouentza We garden in the east midlands of Ireland and we had plenty of bees, hoover flies and bumble bees in our garden up to three weeks ago. Now there are very few and we have not seen any butterflies so far this year. We have a lot of pollinator plants in our garden and we don't know what is wrong. A garden is not a garden without pollinators.

I can only look on in amazement , to the wonderful palate of colours that go to make up your garden . Unfortunately my own garden is probably about the size of your greenhouse ....or maybe less 😢 . But nevertheless , it's always nice to go outside and take in the different shades of green , plus the occasional splash of colour . I intend to make a point of reminding myself just how beautiful your garden looked during the summer , by marking a few dates on the calendar , for later in the winter . Maybe once a month ? Just something to look forward to , when the days are short , and the nights are long .

@@GardeningatDouentza Although the very thought of winter being on the distant horizon , is in itself a rather daunting prospect , you being a knowledgeable gardener , know full well each season has it's own part to play , in the growth cycle of a beautiful garden such as yours . A time to sow seeds , a time plant those seeds , and then a time to sit back to enjoy all your hard work . Plus that of mother nature of course . Yes each season has it's own part to play in making our gardens what they are . A God given sanctuary from what's going on in the world around us . And for that alone , we must be thankful .

Amazing planning with amazing results 🎉 I loved the tour, always exciting, never disapointing. Great idea your project with the Geranium on that rocky slope. Do they ever drop leaves during summer? I suppose not, just wondering...
@GardeningatDouentza
@GardeningatDouentza 4 ай бұрын
Thank you, Fernanda, you are really kind. No, I haven't found that geraniums drop leaves in summer. I do cut some of them back after flowering, like 'Johnston's Blue'. By the way, the geranium I propagated for the stony bank in this video was the unidentified one I sent you a few years back. Did those geraniums survive in the end, I wonder?
@FernandaNascimentoOrchids
@FernandaNascimentoOrchids 4 ай бұрын
@@GardeningatDouentza Very sorry to say that the ones you've sent me did not do well after the second year, they got weaker and weaker 😥😥That is why I asked if yours lose the leaves during summer. Mine did. Although my climate is not very warm and not as sunny as it used to be, the light is still too high for them, as it seems. Hence the reason why the large variety of wild geranium we can see in the fields around here only grow in the spring. One cannot fool nature 😏😏 However, I still have the no Id you've sent me and that is because it is hiding in the gap between two bushes that are touching, creating a sort of a cave. I treasure it 🥰🥰😍😍

@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids Well, thank goodness for that gap between the bushes. I hope you can actually see the geranium in there and it's not just a secret plant. I guess the lesson is to be happy about your lovely, balmy climate 😊😊

Last year an underwater volcano erupted off the coast of Tonga; the volcano threw billions of gallons of water(steam ) into the upper atmosphere.ordinarily, volcanoes throw ash into the upper atmosphere, blocking the sunlight, resulting in the cooling of the earth, but excessive quantities of water in the upper atmosphere will have the opposite effect; it will result in a warming earth for several years.
