Have been waiting to see more of your Malaysian plant tour , and it’s been well worth the wait ! Great video. Thank you. I don’t know how such a fair Irish lass like yourself managed that long ‘ power walk ‘ in all the heat and humidity . True grit !

@GardeningatDouentza2 күн бұрын
Yes, building work can be very damaging but a little repair work now should sort the lawn out for next year.

Such a great step-by-step: thank you! I'm wondering about taking some cuttings now (it's November!) but was hoping to get your thoughts on success rates in colder temperatures - it's probably about 18° in my home in the daytime, colder at night. Maybe I'll risk it anyway and report back!

It's beginning of November and at my home in Western Oregon, frost hasn't hit hard yet. My begonias are still going strong, not even any browning leaves. I'm watching the weather for hard frost and will bring them inside and set on a cool window spot. Wish me luck!
@GardeningatDouentza9 күн бұрын
We've had a really mild autumn so far in Ireland too. Things can only go in one direction though. You could cut your begonias back now and bring them in if you want to get ahead of jobs but it is hard to cut off flowers that are still looking fabulous. I can understand why you want to leave them.

I’ve never , ever , thought to do this . As I watched it being done & completed , it seemed so elementary . My methods are ridiculous . The grasses are exquisite . And the planting presents such a United Front . I often think like this as I watch.

Good Morning Rachel from Colorado Springs. We've got about 10 inches of snow on the ground right now but it's supposed to hit 60 today so I am hoping most of the snow will melt.... About a month ago I spread Epsom salt on the lawn and it really helped... I also trimmed up the edges and circles. For the circles I used a piece of scrap rope and made the circle with the trees off center and spray painted the rope outlines I kept my circle neat. Have a wonderful day!!
@GardeningatDouentza13 күн бұрын
Great tip about the epsom salts and I hope your snow melts quickly. For me that would be a nightmare. Laying rope or hose on the ground works well for informal curves but you'd need a Da Vinci eye to be able to make a perfect circle from it. Thanks for watching and have a great day.

So twice a year this Burgmansia bush is afraid when it feels this blond human approaching it ! Let edit this video, this time with the Burgmansia point of view... Backgroundmusic : The Jaws theme The dialog : The scream of the Hitchcock movie : Psycho.... The end of the film.... the smile of the psychopath after having killed a ton of branches 🙂 Just kidding.... I know this plant can handle it... but at the beginning you said : You need not to prune too low.... and at the end... damn !!!! But great job.... I discovered Brugmansia this year only. Live in Canada, so have learn about winterizing... I steal (yes I know it's not a good behaviour !) 3 cuttings from a neighbour's Brugmansia and did propagate in water. I got plenty of roots. Now I have to plant them in soil.... but don't know if I have to impose them a dormancy periode after this soil planting. I got a very good leafs expansion already.... My apartment is not that "cold" for a dormancy period.... Did you also have to deal with pest in your greenhouse, if yes, what do you do to control it ?
@GardeningatDouentza14 күн бұрын
Yes,blet the brugmansias be very afraid 😅😅😅 Well done with your cuttings. Generally speaking new seeds or cuttings should not have any dormancy imposed on them. Let them grow and they will find their own rhythm bin the end. I treat with isopropyl alcohol in the greenhouse as necessary. I also have a copper anti slug strip at the door and sprinkle a few slug pellets in there too. Hope this answers your questions.
