Hi Gardening at Douentza Chanel. If you want to find the largest orchid garden in the world, I recommend you visit Batu Malang, East Java Province - Indonesia. You will see an orchid paradise there. And, you can meet Mr. Dedek Setia Budi (Mas Dedek) to get a lot of orchid literacy. There are thousands of hybridization orchids that he has produced.

That sound amazing. Adding it to my wish list already. Thank you ☺️

I enjoy your video I live in Florida I'm 51 years old my grandparents died 17 years ago and I received this aloe plant but that they had for years before I keep hearing aloe only lives for up to 12 years I don't think that that is true
@GardeningatDouentza34 минут бұрын
Well, I think that plant life expectance anticipates less than ideal conditions in a home environment. I bet Aloe vera, when grown wild and in an ideal environment, can live indefinitely. Congratulations on doing well with your family heirloom. It must be nice to have that memento of your grandparents.

Oh that's an interesting place for me to visit and also make commentary video. You knowledge for the culture of sun Vandas are good. Though I would like more stories about the flowers. I can see a lot of thrips damage.
@GardeningatDouentza6 күн бұрын
Hello Hendrika. Thank you for your comment. I had to laugh though because orchid growers are always such experts at spotting pests😉😅 It was very hard to film the terete flowers as they are up so high but I was happy to spot some fine examples on you recent balcony-tour video. Just subbed to you. And, as I mentioned, it is a fabulous orchid garden although I did not have the pleasure of visiting any Singapore ones.
@OnceuponanOrchid6 күн бұрын
@GardeningatDouentza thank U so much for supporting my channel. Will do like wise. I'm an orchid judge too and have been taught by my mentor to spot faults to eliminate the lower quality plants. Yes the terete are hard to capture if they are growing too tall. I grow my Vanda Miss Joaquim on a mesh pole and have flowered at about 1.5m tall. Hope you will have a chance to visit Singapore. Happy to Collab with you if you do come to Brisbane for a visit. :)
@GardeningatDouentza6 күн бұрын
@@OnceuponanOrchid Thank you once I again. If I do ever get to Brisbane I will give you a shout but I'm home now in rainy Ireland where teretes are just a distant but wonderful memory. Take care.

@@GardeningatDouentza Yes, the music is much too high relative to when you are speaking so we have to keep turning the volume down when the music comes on then turn it up when you start speaking again. Thank you!

Hi, I got one from my nan in August. I never read about how to care for it so I just kept watering it when I saw it needed. I noticed that some leaves went brown and not as strong as they were before. It is definitely overwatering! What can I do to save it? I will repot it into a smaller pot and cut the dead/rotten roots off. Do I need to stop watering now for a few months?
@GardeningatDouentza6 күн бұрын
Sounds like you've done the right thing. I would continue to water regularly and keep the plant indoors until it recovers and grows more roots. Eliminating water is to trigger flowering whereas your plant's priority is to regrow roots.

The Vandas and the Renantheras, what beautiful spikes !!!! The size is out of this world in the wild but can be a nightmare if they grow that tall in a indoor environment 😅 Love, love when Phalaenopsis species can be allowed to grow wild. I wish I had more space 🤭
