I haven’t used cork, either. I’ll add it to the list! Thanks, Gail. Good luck getting your cameras working again.

BTW, cork is easy to serge in overlock and coverstitch mode. I was pleasantly surprised.

Hi Londa, From hot, humid CT! Serging on cork is much easier and uncomplicated than I thought it would be. Glad you think so too. Let me know what you create with it and hope all is well! Thanks for staying in touch.

Your serger lesson using cork was outstanding! I learned a lot and now need to review the video. I was not clear about the coupon you mentioned. I am purchasing the B990 and would like to know if a coupon can be given to use on your fork and fusion tool? I also would love to see a video using the fusion tool on velveteen and decorative stitches using the serger. Thanks again for all your videos and tips.

@@sherimehl6237 hi Sheri, the $100rebate coupon is from BERNINA of America for BERNINA/bernette machines and software. I made a Crossbody Bag from black velveteen and used Thread Fusion with (2) 12-wt threads and a silver embroidery thread. It was my version of a Chanel bag (without the price tag!) Glad you enjoyed the Serger Savvy (despite my camera problems that I’ve almost figured out). Cork is a brand new “fabric” for me to stitch on and it’s easy!

Hi Deidra, As mentioned in the video, it was my first time stitching on cork. It was surprisingly easy and using ELx705 90/14 needles-no skipped stitches. There are different brands and qualities of cork. SallieTomato's was excellent. Thanks for watching!

Does stitching cork tend to make it weaker? I can imagine that the line of holes would tend to make a breaking line... espescially if the stitch length is short...
@GailPatriceDesign5 ай бұрын
@@lyntonblair9016 Hi Lynton, So far I’ve found that cork is very resilient. I actually ripped out the original stitching because I didn’t like the thread colors. When I looked at it you could not see needle holes on the right side. I stitched over those lines and it was perfect and didn’t show any signs of weakness or stress. I thought the same thing that you asked about and was pleased to see that it doesn’t weaken the way vinyl, etc. Not sure if all brands of cork would react the same way. Probably a matter of product quality. Sallie Tomato’s cork is excellent. Thanks for watching Serger Savvy!
