I wish more people collaborated with Tanya Tagaq or throat singers in general. Such a unique sound

Rob Elliott what does tanya sing on this track?
@Kaziklu8 жыл бұрын
She is throat singing. So you hear it at the beginning... I don't know how to describe as anything other than it is the throat singing you hear through out.
@ifabforfun8 жыл бұрын
damn I didn't even know that was a person singing lol, just thought it was a produced sound or maybe some kind of washboard or something
@MakingtheCase8 жыл бұрын
It's Inuit throat singing, specifically. :)
@Kaziklu8 жыл бұрын
***** well I wouldn't go that far.. it is her version of a solo form of Inuit throat singing which normally needs two people. She did just get the Order of Canada though which is nice to see.
@nauyavidahl88256 жыл бұрын
I am shook. I've known this song for a few years now. And I loved~ the throat singing, because I am an inuk woman. AND ONLY NOW REALIZED that a known Inuk throat singer is in this song, Tanya Tagaq! This is so cool!!
@DanteYewToob2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I didn’t even recognize that as a human the first few times until I got curious and looked up Tanya Tagaq because I didn’t hear anyone else on the track.. I thought maybe that was just the name of the rock band playing the instruments since they’re not normal members of July Talk. I’m definitely glad I looked her up, it’s pretty damn cool! If you have any recommendations for Inuk music that I can check out and recommend to others I’d be happy to check them out! I love learning new things and experiencing more of the world, I’m Jamaican American so I’m from two very mixed up cultures and I like it that way!

Not enough artists truly understand the music video as artform these days. July Talk is a tremendous exception to that rule. So much raw emotion here. That hand reach/rejection really summarizes the entire song in a single image.

Can some explain to me the meaning of this song?
@user-ou1ko3xb9x5 жыл бұрын
Yes
@quackmaster92353 жыл бұрын
@@fmwr1397 I believe it relates to toxic codependency. The couple they are portraying are constantly pulling closer yet then pushing each other away. This relationship is a sexual one that has become too intimate, they are beginning to see into each other and are afraid to develop emotions beyond sexual desire because of their insecurities, but they cannot stay apart for long and always return.

Lyrics Why do you want me today? Is it because you think you're wonderful? Am I fun to play? Why do you want me today? Is it because you think you're wonderful or is it because you think you're worth less than nothing at all? At your beck and call We're not the first to fall To feel unknown Still we jump at your beck and call What do you want me to say? If you want me, I'll be waiting If you don't, it's okay Why did you come here today? Do you really think there's something more to say or do you just need saving? At your beck and call We're not the first to fall To feel unknown Still we jump at your beck and call (He loves me, she loves me not) We're not the first to fall (She loves me, she loves me not) To feel alone (He loves me, he loves me not) To feel alone (She loves me, she loves me not) To feel unwanted He loves me, he loves me not She loves me, she loves me not Blind love in dark bedrooms Find love within confusion At your beck and call (He loves me, he loves me not) We're not the first to fall (She loves me, she loves me not) To feel unknown, still we (He loves me, she loves me not) Jump at your beck and call (He loves me, he loves me not) We're not the first to fall (She loves me, she loves me not) To feel alone (He loves me, he loves me not) To feel alone (She loves me, she loves me not) To feel unwanted Yw.
