Love this video - persuasion is my favourite Austen and I love the version with Ciaran Hinds

I think I've seen that one, it looks familiar. I will have to try to find it and watch it, I'm not a fan of the Dakota Johnson version at all!

@@Bryndisdaugtherofgunnar I saw a few clips of that one on you tube - what did they do it was terrible 😳

@@victoriaclarke1911 Some of the costumes where strange but mostly it was the fact that Dakota kept talking to the camera. I didn't think that worked in the context of the 1810s, it took me out of the character. Hér comments were observations that were too modern.

Your holiday sounds lovely! I would try to find a Jane Austen-y spot outside somewhere to read for a bit 😊 I don’t know how common those are in Iceland but I’m sure there’s something! Longborn sounds really good! I look forward to your thoughts on that. As for movies, I love the “new” Pride and Prejudice. I love that you called Kate Winslet “the other one” 😂 You’re really on top of it in this video haha 😂 I think the Emma movie with all the colors is good, can’t remember who is in it 😊 Helpful, I know! Good luck with your Austen month and have fun!

Thank you, I should be able to find an Austen inspired spot somewhere, I think. I think the Emma movie 'with the colours' is the one with Anya Taylor-Joy, the actress from Queen's Gambit. I think that one might be interesting.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Jane Austen. She is definitely one of my favorite authors! Everyone of her six novels is worth reading again...and again! For future reading you might enjoy the novel Hamerston Hall by Jane Eastbourne. It is set in early 19th century England and has the common JA dilema of the family property being entailed to a male heir.

I love this, and love these prompts! I may need to read a Jane Austen in July, either a re-read of P&P (my all-time favorite) or a new one to me, like Northanger Abbey or Mansfield Park! My favorite film adaptation is definitely the Kiera Knightley Pride and Prejudice, I went to watch the newer Emma though. Oh and Longbourne sounds cool, definitely interested in that one! Hope you enjoy your time off and get some good rest 😊

I really like Mansfield Park but Northanger Abbey is also very good. I hope you enjoy whichever you choose.
