In the fearsome jungles of Jumanji, Peter tries to cheat at solving a puzzle that will send them home. It does send them home... and it sends Jumanji with them!
After being called out as a cheater, Peter suddenly changes into a monkey boy. Before the trio can even begin to worry about that, vines and a stampede of animals come pouring down the stairs into the grand hall, breaking out into the streets to rampage through the town of Brantford.
Realizing they must go back and solve the puzzle, they head upstairs to discover that Jumanji has opened a bridge between their world and the jungle, no board game needed.
In the jungle they quickly captured by Van Pelt, who is incensed after letting them escape before. He demands the crystal, but they lie and say that the Manji tribe has it. He cages them as he awaits the tribe, only to be bamboozled by a team-up from Tribal Bob and Peter, using his newly acquired tail.
Freed by the Manjis, Peter hands over the crystal, as it belongs to them. Bob arranges the puzzle to near completion, then allows Peter to make the final turn, solving it more-or-less the proper way. The three are sent home, and Peter is restored to his human form, and the damage done earlier to their house and neighborhood is erased, as if it never happened.
All seems well, until Alan exclaims that they need to burn the game. Jumanji doesn't like that, so it bends its rules and sucks Alan back into its world.
From the very first episode of Jumanji: The Animated Series, "The Price"
I held off on this one because the full episode is readily available all over the site, and at its base quality even an AI upscale won't improve much. More than that, it's always been a pretty disappointing transformation to me. The crossfade effect is lame, and I don't know what happened with the design. The Jumanji monkeys look fine, but when Peter changes, he grows a mullet (??), becomes paler (???), his nose looks like a cookie, and he gets a bit hairier. Plus the tail. He doesn't make any monkey sounds or anything. Aside from sparing use of his tail, he might as well be the same as before.
Shoutout to Alan for the Chim Chim (Speed Racer) reference. I checked, and that's actually something he might know about from his childhood, airing two years before his involuntary move to Jumanji.
