My quilt guild makes quilts for a children in crisis place but the 9-1/4” starting b locks are too big for the size quilts we make. So - I’m thinking I could,do the same as you did for this one with a bit smaller starting blocks and make slightly smaller flying geese (one of my favorite patterns!) I need to work on the math but these quilts would be perfect for the older children who come to the facility (they have kids from very young up to around 16 or so and it gets difficult to remember these older kids need quilts too. It’s so easy to make those cute ones and sometimes people get boring fabrics for the older kids - what. Super quilt for them!!!

One of my recent favorite make was the indigo splash wave quilt. It used most of the fabrics in the line. Not sure if that’s the exact name. I bought the kit, but once the blocks were done I arranged them differently than the pattern called for and I love my blue and white quilt.

I don't know there are a lot of ways to use the disappearing nine patch too, of course that was the first block I made so I might be a little partial to them. I used to think I was a bit OCD about squaring up blocks (I love square- up rulers and try to actually get all sizes!! Me being OCD again😁😁). So I was especially happy to hear you say how important this really is!!! And I love your use of Washi tape - I have some (haven’t a clue why😳) but now I have found a way to use it % with these rulers and also other videos yiu have done!! Major thanks!!!

TIP: The best mat to absorb bounciness and noise under your sewing machine are the sample carpet pieces from your local carpet shop. Ours throws them away so I stopped by Coles Carpets 2 or 3 times a year and grab as many as I can. I have many uses for them besides under my sewing machine. I put a couple in my vehicle because my daughter’s wheelchair tracks in a lot of dirt and occasionally mud on the few days it rains here in San Diego. I also place them at my front and back doors, by my washer and dryer. They cleanup, pretty easy with the hose and a little bit of soap. When they get stained, they go out in the catio for my 3 cats. After they’ve been out with the cats for a while, they go in the trash. Love this quilt (you had me at orange my favorite color) and I cannot wait to make one up. Or two, three…..

Nice modern quilt! I went to Quiltcon this year and it was the first time I got to see a lot of "modern" quilts. I really loved the designs- it's a nice change up. I see your Skippy Peanut Butter box! I too, use these boxes from Costco for my projects.. You should dump the P-butter and go to the M&M section and 'borrow' some of those boxes.. they are super sturdy and they stack up inside each other for easy storage...the black boxes (no peanuts)fit perfectly inside the peanut M&M... ! Oh.. and I love your tutorials too!

Next, time I go to Costco I’m going g to look for these boxes - I happen to love boxes (even those plastic ones!) I usually dint go near the candy isles for a reason but I sure will now!
