The fastest it took my uncle to ever make a quilt was 7 weeks, it usually takes him 9 to 11 weeks. Now his quilts are on average 1965 square feet or 183 square meters ! But then again he does the quilting sewing for hot air balloons.

This video is my intro to quilting. When I first saw it I thought, "What is this wizardry? Is she seriously making a completely rad tablecloth in a day?" I quickly got this autumn rollie and some fabric from JoJo's and I made a table runner, a smaller double wide runner and three little pumpkins for my mom. It took me two days, but it's beautiful and I have already ordered another jelly roll to make something else... a QUILT! seriously, I'm sold! Thank you for making this fun and great video! All the best :)

I love your tablecloth. It's beautiful. I have a horrible metal table out on my back veranda. I like to cover it when we are having a BBQ out there. I have lots of placemats but now I'm thinking this tablecloth in Christmas fabrics. I might put a very thin batting in mine as things go clink when plates, cups and glasses are put on the metal so batting will be good for me. Always enjoy your videos. Absolutely love that jr, Fall colors are my favorite. Great pattern. Thanks 🙏 Tip suggestion: before sewing the long strips together cut them in half. This will give you more combination options when pairing up your 5 strips. This method is especially useful when a jelly roll has multiples, 3 to 5, of the same strips. Works great 👍

Love the colors in the Jelly Roll you used! Perfect for Fall! However, I didn't care for the white strips. The contrast of the bright white against the Fall colors just looks odd to me. Yes, when doing jelly roll race type tops, pressing seams open improves the stability of the top. Open seams are just as durable as closed. And they don’t fight with each other at intersections. Also it makes less lumps.

Fabulous!!! I love it so quick and beautiful. Great tutorial you make it look so easy 😮 Question: It looked like you had your white strips folded when you cut them. When I cut fabric folded I usually get a bow in the fabric. How do I get a perfectly cut fabric. Help 😢
@seweasybysandy
@seweasybysandy 15 күн бұрын
Well, that is one reason why I decided to cut a wider strip and fold it, to make sure it was nice and straight. If the fabric is stirdy enough it won't bend but, more often than not, it does. This is one way to keep it from ruining the project 😃

Pressing changes the size of your block. Open will give you the largest block. To the side will make it smaller. Not a big deal on a block with a few pieces but a complex design can be completely thrown out if you don't press as per pattern. Sincerely former dark side addict 😂
