Jump King: Babe of Ascension 0 Falls

This is the first real custom map completed for jump king, and it is way more polished and high quality than I expected. I'd say it's decently harder than the other official Jump King DLC's, but it's hard for me to tell how much because I've improved a lot since I first played Ghost of the Babe.
This took less than 10 hours to do, but it easily could have taken a while longer. I wish I didn't have a run where I got such a lucky fall save, but the mistake was so dumb and barely an actual mistake in my opinion, and like I said I would just be submitting myself to spending more time on it for little reason, so this will do for now.
Snake Ring + Giant Boots run next; Boots+ Ring 0 falls TBD because idk how hard it will be, but we'll see. If I do that then I don't have to feel bad about getting a lucky save here lol.
As for how I broke the fall on that save, honestly I've never seen anything like that. It really looked like it would be a fall, but I'm guessing that I clipped into the exact slope corner and for some reason that counted as touching a slope and it broke my fall. Very fortunate to not get punished for such a silly error, I was lucky on this day.

Babe of Ascension is a custom map for Jump King, made by IntroCar with help from others, and is playable utilizing the JumpKingPlus mod. To play, you must first download the latest version of JumpKingPlus: (github.com/Phoenixx19/JumpKingPlus/releases/), then download the map itself here: (bit.ly/3fJh8YB), and put the "mods" folder within the zip into the "Content" folder in your Jump King directory, then you're ready to go.

he didnt face plant I think, a fall only counts when you face plant in game.

in order to get a fall, you need to face plant. to face plant you need to fall for a certain distance uninterrupted, he hit the wall right before he hit the platform, so it didn't count as a fall, and you can see in the stats at the end of the run, it says 0 falls.

Would you consider doing a celeste challenge where similar to your all c sides in a row deathless, you could do all golden berries (maybe making an exception for farewell) in a row?

This mod is awful. I wonder why someone would spend so much time making something that ridiculously long, hard and ugly. Also, I feel bad for everyone who has set a goal to beat this crap. This is not near the quality of the original base game with DLCs. I can't understand why the creators decided to make this, instead of something shorter but good.

It's basically impossible for someone to make something quite as good as the OG dev maps, since they likely won't be as practiced/skilled in the pixel art side of things, or the level design side of things, and on top of that they don't have as good of access to reliable playtesters to get feedback from. Virtually no one's goal is to try to make the best thing ever, or have their map be as good as the devs' maps, because as I said that's an ENORMOUS mountain to climb with the handicaps I mentioned. When someone decides to make a jump king custom map, they are doing it out of love and passion for the game, creating in general, and contributing to something they care about. Obviously people don't want to make something they themself think is bad, but high quality art and gameplay really should only be seen as an added bonus. I believe it's silly and totally unfair to hold amateur modders to the standards of the official maps, especially when the level design was done close to entirely by ONE person. That being said I personally find this map to be quite pretty with a good amount of personality, despite it's shortcomings when compared to the super detailed pixel art of the official maps. In terms of gameplay, I found it to be mostly balanced, with quite few unfairly punishing falls, not much worse than Ghost of the Babe in that regard. Truly I can't think of any notable negative things to say about the gameplay/geometry of the level design. A lot of complaints about the map's gameplay I think are due to it's overall difficulty, it's a bit of a step up even from Ghost of the Babe. I wouldn't recommend someone to play BoA if all they've done is a single playthrough of the 3 official jump king maps (I wouldn't even recommend playing Ghost of the Babe if your only experience with the game was one run of the first 2 maps tbh, it will be an unnecessarily painful struggle.) I think people should replay the original maps a bit and/or do some of the extra achievements first, it's a much more fun, engaging, and less tilting way to improve at the game. Now, could the visuals and gameplay have been slightly better if this map was shorter? Probably, but that's not what the creator envisioned, they wanted to make a full-sized jump king map, and stop when they were happy with it. Even so, you're expecting way too much. Honestly for being made almost completely by one person in 7 months, this being their first jump king map they ever made, let alone the first jump king custom map *ever* made at all, the quality and inspiration this map brought is astounding. Even if it was widely considered to be bad (which as far as I can tell the opposite is true), there's no reason to be so insultingly negative about it, just because you don't like it.

Yo, mod maker here and I can understand why you didn't like it for the most part, I also feel the same way with it in a lot of ways. The map visually isn't very good, the first five areas look like a scratch game, but I am improving so anything I make in the future will look a lot better. Also the reason for the length is that due to there being no jump king content for a while at the time, I wanted to make something really big for people to have some more jump king to play, that and I also had a lot of ideas for areas that I wanted to implement. The map going into a bunch of random crap like all the retro stuff is also a thing I have a gripe with, its just kind of nonsense, there was some lore factor that I didn't really have time to implement so thats just how it was. I did try to make it somewhat close gameplay wise to the base maps, didn't do the best job but most think its on par to something the devs would make, even the devs themselves thought it felt like an official DLC. I'll work harder in the future, thanks for the feedback.
