In this video I used low gauge wires/cables I had.
Few months after this the same situation arised again and I had thick wires. I did not have to wait for the car to charge. I started the suv, connected the thick wires I had and started the car immediately without any wait.
The wires were thick, so the car could draw power from the suv battery directly. After the car is started, the cables were immediately disconnected and I've let the car run for aroudn 15 minutes before shutting the engine. This was sufficient for the car for next starts. The battery will eventually get fully charged.
Note: Both these vehicles start in 1 or 2 seconds, at the most 3 or 4 seconds. So the power they need is very less. If the vehicles have to crank longer then the wires need to be sufficiently thick or you may have to wait longer for the dead battery to charge properly.
