JUMPING THREE PONIES ~ Let's bounce

Welcome back to the chan chan (who even calls it that).
In today's vlog all three ponies have a jumping session at home to tune us up for eventing. I decided to do some bounces with them as I wanted them to have to think and work for themselves. Let me know what you think of the exercise, I was rather pleased with it!

Holly’s Report 🤓: Dee: started jumping rounder (even if she was a bit quick) instead of fast and flat. Definitely learned a lot from it and you rode her perfectly, just letting her canter through and make her own mistakes! Bear: .... a bounce of planks?? Do you have a death wish Meg? 😂 Jammy my favourite: was a clever girl!! I think she learned the most from the cross pole bounces because like you said, she had to stay straight and couldn’t make more space for herself by drifting. SOOO excited to see you out competing with the girls 🥰🥰

Maybe this should be a regular exercise for Dee? This looks very similar to what you where doing with Diva, Holly. And it certainly improved her rushing-fences tendency. PS I so enjoy Meg and Holly collabing.

I agree with all you have said, Holly. Dee will probably ride better after doing more exercises like this. 'Back to basics'. Bear's look was priceless... But, we wouldn't have Bear any other way 🙂 Jam has clearly had time to grow up and get stronger during her time off. And what I did notice was that Megan's jumping lesson on her was far better than the vlog I've watched earlier this evening, and in such a short space of time. I can seriously see Jam becoming top horse at this rate. Can't wait to see how she progresses in the weeks and months to come 😊🐎🐴

The UK changes their clocks a week or two earlier. Scandinavia does it around the same time bc you're very close to each other on latitude. Fun fact, the UK is farther north than anywhere in America. If I recall correctly, America is planning to get rid of daylight savings time, no clue when but there have been a lot of talks about it.

Great vlog. I had to smile - your chestnut 'neighbour' had obviously said to his field mate "you best come and watch - she's riding Bear now - this will be good". Bear didn't disappoint, bless her. Oh my goodness bear bear just acts too much like a pony I ride named Coco. Coco always refuses the jump/pole the first time and does the funniest things. Coco is a flea bitten grey mare. Yesterday we had a lesson and someone came out of the bathroom in the barn and she spooked and galloped to the whole other side of the arena. I'm surprised I didn't fall off. Then we went out to the outdoor arena and she was spooky the first time around then she was good. All a sudden when we went close to the corner of the arena she started bucking and doing bunny hops in place. I was off. No wonder why I haven't tried to put her in a show yet🤣🤣🤣 Plus she treats cross bars like 3ft jumps. Seriously though what do I do with this mare!!!!🤣

For Dee you should do an exercise like the spider one but the clock version so you go from 12 to 6 to 3 to 9! The corners might slow the running, and it’s good practice for tight turns

De definitely improved and I think Bear well I think she understands that she has a audience she has to show off for and she is giving them something to remember while she goes on maternity leave and then there is Jam who tries her heart out even though she has never seen planks but I think out of all three we have Bear the comedian and De just loves the fast life and Jam likes to be safe and being the teachers pet but they were all good girls also I think Jam has an old eventer brain in a young horse body I think we need more of these one because it teaches everybody and gives ideas to people who have a mental block when it comes to schooling over poles so thank you

Im not trying to tell you guys what to do but If I were you I wouldn't put bear in foal just because with what happened with Lara, she was really good and then after she had her foal she was never really up to her best again. I think bear is an amazing horse and it would be a shame if she could be as good as she is now again or even better. NOT TRYING TO HATE YOU YOU GUYS x

Unfortunately, we in Oz changed ours back the other day so the days are getting darker earlier, which is annoying when you need the daylight to ride after work. Yes some of us poor people have jobs that don't involve Ponies all day, sad to say. Enjoy your Daylight saving.

Hi Meg, I know you most likely will not see this, but I’ve been a fan of u for quite a while now and u have really inspired me and made my day. I have a slight problem, I had a pony called buttons and I trained him myself the best I could as no one would help me, but he was sold after a while by my OLD trainer. I’m at a new place now where I’m so happy, but they’ve got this new young cob called Oreo he is so beautiful and my trainer has asked me to help train him. I am dieing to but I feel terrible about myself if I do it because me and buttons had made such a bind and I feel like I’m replacing him, what should I do and any advice on training?
