Hey, man. I never comment on KZbin videos, but I'm a second year RN student that's right on the line of passing or failing out after my final next week. ECG's had me feeling totally hopeless and now thanks to your videos it's all starting to make sense. Whether I pass or not next week, you helped me a lot, like I'm sure these have helped many others. Thank you!!

Prior to a pacemaker implant, I had runs of junctional rhythms with retrograde P waves. (Along with other electrophysical problems.) I have never had chest pain, but with the retrograde conductions, I would feel a huge lump in my throat, sometimes to the point of nausea. It was extremely uncomfortable. ---------- I have been searching the 'net intermittently for information on retrograde conductions, but all I could find were info about conductions relating to a pacemaker, not junctional rhythms. Thank you so much for including this information here. I was beginning to think I had deluded myself. ------------ If you begin making videos again, perhaps you could illustrate the way the various arrhythmias effect the circulation into and out of the heart? Especially those nasty retrograde conductions!

Sir, What's the difference between junctional rhythm and complete heart block? Is it a must for P wave existing in CHB?
@MagicinNursingTeam4 жыл бұрын
Junctional rhythm has either have an inverted or absent p wave while in a complete heart block, pwave still exists even though there is no correlation with the qrs complex.

If the heart rate is 60-100, why would they be in a junctional rhythm? Would they not be in sinus rhythm since the SA node beats 60-100? Is it just due to the inverted or absent p wave?
@MagicinNursingTeam4 жыл бұрын
You are right, it would only be junctional if the p wave is absent or inverted. Typically, junctional rhythm will have a heart rate of 40-60 bpm. If it’s 60-100 bpm, it will be accelerated junctional rhythm.
