ELECTROCARDIOGRAM - with its name it represents electrical activity of your cardiac muscle for contraction. - When we say electrical you said it yourself Depolarization and Repolarization. They are the 2 phases of electrical activities which is action potential. You were pointing out that depo is contraction and repo is relaxation. Again depo and repo are lectrical activities. Contraction and relaxation are MECHANICAL activities. Based on this therefore its NOT about the conducting system like SA and AV nodes. It is better to say that deoplarization will result in contraction because there are stillseveral events before it results to contraction. And so does there are several events after repolarization before it results to relaxation like phosphorylation of Tropin I so calcium detaches from troponin C. Now a days there are ecg strips in 1 second or 3 seconds I am aware you are trying to educate people. My concern is that there should be at least some more research done to make it more accurate. Our students were mislead about some info. #nohatesjustacommentfromaprofessor
