As a teenager in the late 80's I drove my dad's truck, mostly off road doing road construction in a GMC gas 10 wheeler tandem , 427 engine. In the heat of summer , no AC, spring ride suspension, dusty haul roads in a pit with little air movement ,plus the heat off the engine, but I was trucking, just like those old timer truckers. I had an AM only radio and air ride seat, and a CB , Eaton fuller 13 speed direct drive transmission. My first time driving a trailer truck (i was 19) was when I went for my class 1 license, my friend and 1 borrowed a neighbor's rig, passed 1st shot.

I used to have to wash my entire rig like that with the BRUSH and a 5 gal bucket of soap.

Then, they built a new plant in 1982 with an automatic wash....I went thru it as much as possible!

Because Volvo hood latch are the worst in the world.. before I could not open the hood, now, I can’t keep them closed. Every time I put the brakes on the hood will open.
