Very enjoyable seeing all the different fabrics with the same patterns. It’s amazing to see how much different the quilts look. She did a great job showing them off. Gives us lots of ideas with the layer cakes we might have at home. Thank you for all of the show and tell. ❤

I love your idea of boxing one project for each month and draw what’s next. I have so many projects I want to get to, but then get overwhelmed as to which to do next. When I first started, I would not allow myself to buy any fabric or pattern until the one I was working on was done and out of here. Everyone would say “oh no, I have several I’m working on…”. If I did that, I would get nothing done!😬. Thanks for the tip. I also love your patterns.❤

Me too. I work on one quilt at a time. Although I’m OK with the hand sewing part of the binding as I’m starting my next quilt. I’ve tried working on more than one years ago which ended up with me having a boatload of unfinished quilts.

I love love your quilts, you have made some beautiful quilts. I still do not know on quilting, what is yawls term one layer cake two layer cakes what do you mean layer cakes? Remember I am a beginner I’m sorry I’ve got tons of questions and I have been doing a lot of reading up on making a quilt. I needed this time to understand more about when y’all are saying one layer cake. Thank You!!

A layer cake is a stack of 40-42 pieces of 10 inch squares of fabric. Pre cut layer cakes from fabric companies will have all the fabrics in a certain line of fabric so that it all matches. Some people also like to make their own layer cakes with fabric they already own or plan on purchasing

Thank you! I loved all the quilts and patterns but I think the Cake Box pattern is my favorite. The different fabrics and colors make the pattern attractive to me. How do I get the pattern for my charity quilt group?

Hello, I am trying to learn all I can about making a quilt before I start making one. You have some Beautiful quilts. I have a question, you talk about Layer Cakes and then one quilt you were showing you said to do 10 x 10“ have 40 or 42 squares am I correct or not? Do you have a website that I can Learn a little bit more on making a quilt?? It’s a lot to know about Quilts. Thank You

Hello Nancy. A layer cake is Moda's name for a stack of 40-42 10 inch squares of fabric. These stacks, or layer cakes, often include all the fabrics in a line of fabric. Sometimes I'll make my own "layer cake" of 10 inch squares with fabric that I already have based on the colors I want to use. As far as learning more about quilting, my KZbin channel has over 160 videos, most of which are sharing tutorials of various types of projects. And we're adding new videos on a regular basis. Be sure to check out the "Playlists" section of our channel where you can see all the different kinds of projects we have. And lastly, if you haven't already, I invite you to subscribe to our channel so you won't miss any of our content. Happy Quilting!

I didn't join the monthly challenge, but I have a question about it. Since I have varying amounts of time during the year (summer = outside work), if I don't finish a project during the month, do I pack it up, or keep plugging on it? (I have over a dozen projects kitted up !)

Do you do all this sewing and quilting or do you have help
@thequiltedforest11 ай бұрын
For the projects of the month I do all the sewing and quilting. I have employees who also help with a lot of the projects you see hanging in the backgrounds of the videos.
