Vincent's life was so tragic. He was a beautiful artist who was not seen. He could not connect with others. When I watched the Vincent movie I cried so hard because that was me, constantly trying to make it over and over, never losing determination, but never appreciated or loved, rejected, different, angry, deep in spirit, so misunderstood, understanding things most do not, seeing a greater beauty of life others could not see. His desperation to be seen and loved were so felt. I would of loved Vincent if I were in his time.

oh yes!!! Oh you make me cry....so sad....his last words..." the pain will go on forever"....and in a way , through some of his work, it does...but alas, it brings comfort to those that understand. My love to you, Susan

I love Van Gogh! A year after my husband passed I went to Paris on a Viking tours. We had a one day trip to Saint-Paul asylum Saint Re’my where Vincent Van Gogh was self admitted patient. I didn’t want to leave ! It was so beautiful! Starry Night was just one of many painting he painted while there ! The whole asylum is full of all his painting ! He truly blessed the world with his work 👨🎨PS they have a life size copper statue of him , he was 5’7~

Happy 4th Susan and Desi. I look forward to your weekly videos. I can relate to you in so many ways, art, music, poetry, books, photography. Today's video has inspired me to grab my paintbrush and get back into my studio. You are always inspiring. Thank you for being so generous with your gifts and especially the gift of kindness. You have been a blessing in my life. I didn't comment on last week's video because I had so much I wanted to share. In the end, what saved me in my darkest hour was just the phrase, "you are going to be okay." Nearly a decade ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer, triple negative - stage 3b. I walked a lot in those days, at night, to hide my baldness and missing breasts. Today, I am better for the journey. My hair is long and my new nickname is pancake. Life is good and I am okay. xx

I was touched to hear you speak on the importance of art. I have thanked God many times for my senior English teacher in high school, Mike Hamp. He had the audacity to teach outside the curriculum in an effort to make his students more well-rounded. Every Monday morning, along with our vocabulary words for the week, he gave us a lecture on an artist or a famous work of art. I vividly remember his talk on Van Gogh and that was nearly 50 years ago. Because of him, I know Van Gogh, Dali, Monet, Cassatt, and many others. Since I've lost so much of my eyesight, I can't take in new images of artworks, but they live in my memory. All I need to do is close my eyes and I clearly see my favorite painting, Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Seurat. It brings me peace and joy, even after all these years. If not for a innovative teacher who wanted his small-town students to be a bit more wordly, I would have lost out on so much. Thanks for the video, susan!

I love Van Gogh! I shared his story with my eldest granddaughter and she loved him too. She did projects about his art. We had a wonderful connection back then but once they hit the teenage years that all changed. I loved his work and the fact that he had such a beautiful soul. It saddens me that he only sold one painting in his life (to a relative). I hope he knows what a splendid difference he made.

My husband and I both love Van Gogh.. We have several of his paintings... and I understand your emotions about art. I have a very strong emotional response to Rembrandt.. It's overwhelming. The first time I walked into the Rembrandt Room in the Metropolitan Museum NYC.. I couldn't breathe, I choked up. The tears flowed like Niagara Falls.. I couldn't stop crying. Thinking that I was just having one of those days.. Well, a few years later I was at the Getty Museum in LA.. there happened to be a Rembrandt collection on loan. The same thing happened to me... I wept. wept. wept.. I tried to fight them, but the tears would not stop. I understand why you cried at the Van Gogh.

Happy Fourth of July!!! Having an outlet to help us survive rough times is quite a gift. That outlet varies from person to person. If you have one, cherish it!!! My outlet has always been beautiful fabric and a sewing machine. Watching flat fabric transform into something beautiful, useful, or utilitarian is exciting. I love bringing something comfortable or beautiful or something useful to life. This week I made a fishing rod quiver, several dresses and 20 chair covers. The chair covers were for a third grade classroom. They had pockets and pouches so the kids could store their supplies and papers. Very fun project requested by a dedicated teacher. A trip to a big fabric store is my greatest desire come true.

Good Day , thank you for this video for sharing make up tips, fashionable clothes ideas and the art work of Vincent. I enjoy watching you visit the thrift store too. You have a cozy, comfortable and for me its a beautiful home, because you filled it with art ideas. What I can say is we are a children of God, we are blessed and we have to be thanking Him for that. Take care, stay safe and God bless us always.

My favorite thing this summer is sitting outside in my yard and watching nature. I planted some blue/ black salvia a few years ago. It’s spread now and my hummingbirds love it. It’s taken over a side of my house and I’ve named it Hummingbird Alley because they fly down from my Japanese Maple and swarm the salvia every afternoon. I feed my squirrels peanuts and love watching their antics. In addition, a cat has decided to live in my yard and also a baby fox. They share the cat food. Love my little natural zoo.

it is so sad that Vincent had no idea how important he is when he was alive. His work is breathtaking and I can't imagine anyone with a soul not enjoying the immersive Van Gogh experience. Yes, Desi is a dreamboat. My June favorite was seeing Elvis. Is now one of my all time favorite movies.

Patti, Rxstrmom introduced me to one of her favourites, the caftan. I’ve ordered a few from Amazon and love, love, love them for the summer. They are light and airy and very cool. Plus they look presentable to wear around the house and even if you have company. They will also be wonderful to take with me when we go to Mexico next year.

I love you, too, Susan. You are a beautiful lady. I am knitting again, and I am taking a knitting class in a yarn store for two Saturday mornings. I crocheted an afghan in multiple bright colors for my 11 year old granddaughter, Heidi. It took me two weeks to make it. I will give to her next weekend. Take Care.😊

Thank you dear Susan, for this beautiful, mesmerizing video. What a treat! I have had a really crappy week - but when I woke up this morning, I thought, “Oh, good! Little Poet is on tonight!” I absolutely love your new wall pocket, I would have bought it in a heartbeat! It’s a lovely Wisteria design - I have them growing on my deck, here in OHIO! Love to you and precious Desi. 🙋♀️🥰💕‼️

I smiled when I saw your book choices, especially Ricki's book. I have an unusual connection with her. In the early 1980s, my boyfriend (former Devo member who worked in a synthesizer company), met Ricki Lee Jones at his job and dropped me to date her! They did not last and he wound up married and living on a farm out of state, but a little piece of my heart twinges when I listen to her music or hear her name. Lol

Susan, thanks so very much for sharing your time. I went to a thrift store and purchased a book about poems, took it home and put my glasses on! It’s titled: “a celebration of POETS” and small print that I couldn’t read without my glasses until I came home…”grades K-3” 😂 but I love it! Amazing what these kids wrote. Happy 4th to you and Desi! I love Vincent too!

I wish I’d have seen the Van Gough Exhibition his work is extraordinary. The thing with art is that it captures you. A friend of mine had paintings by an artist who worked with Toulouse la Trec they were extraordinary hanging on the wall. Another painting she had was a painting of Mary Antoinette’s grandmother it was amazing to see them hanging on the wall.

Wednesday I went to a greenhouse to get some plants & herbs. They had a farm stand out front. The freshest nectarines , corn and melons. 🍉 I sat in my car, on a perfect summer day and took the first bite of a luscious nectarine. 🍑 It nearly exploded with juicy sweetness! I could not contain my joy, THAT first bite, juice seeping down my wrist. I just adore that! Listening to the Beatles " Can't Buy Me Love!" 🎶 Summer in all it's glory, is HERE!!! 😘🌞👒

In July I love BonJovi and August is Rod Stewart sings the Classics, as I drive through Lancaster County and Amish country. I live in the Harrisburg/ Hershey, PA area. Still kind of magical here...just like Michigan in the summer! Let me know if you'll ever in the area...I can make us Spa Appointmnts at The Chocolate Spa at the Hotel Hershey! Hi Susan, I never new how beautiful Vincent Van Goh's paintings were. They are amazingly colorful and bright. Thank you for sharing them with us. It wasn't till I was 63 that I fell in love with Opera thanks to Johnathan Antione. A young man with an outstandingly good Opera voice from Britian. I have since gone on to discover Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Sarah Brightman and more. There are certain songs that Johnathan sings that brings me to tears. Andrea blows me away with his mesmerizing high notes and vocal control, Luciano sings with such power you feel he could win a war with his vocal strength and Sarah's voice is angelic. I love the arts, they take us places we could never go otherwise. Desi is a dreamboat with his cute little face. Your outfits are gorgeous! Hugs and blessings till next week sweet friend!
