I really enjoyed the garden tour ! It seems like everything is really starting to take off . I have been fighting grass with grass since March and it just amazes me that grass will pop and grow in dry grass clipping with no moisture . I feel your pain about nature wanting to take over lol . To be honest I don't see how anyone can keep a weed free garden that has any size to it . I'm out every day and still have to pull weeds even with thick layers of mulch . Thanks for sharing and I hope you guys have a great weekend !!

Thanks Aaric. Time flies when just walking through the garden. It seems like weeding is turning into a full time job. You are right about larger gardens being tougher to keep weed free, maybe impossible. But we do what we can in the time we have available. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful weekend!

Hey Brother Rob, awesome garden tour, glad to see everything is in fantastic shape. In my garden, the black turmeric is likewise the last to sprout, the volunteer sunflower will look amazing in a few weeks. Yes, there is always competition with the birds and other wildlife for some fruits.

Wow Rob, that’s an amazing tour. You and Mrs. SG are rocking the property you have. I get the sense that your big push to get some of the landscaping taken care of has given you guys more motivation to conquer the areas that you had been avoiding for a while. Your definitely adding to the variety of things that you are giving a try. I’m curious to know the estimated value of the produce that you actually harvest and eat. If you consider that your produce ( I believe) is organic, which just increases the overall value. Keep up the good work…
@EssayonsFG
@EssayonsFG Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, Bill. You are right about the motivation. We hope to get the weeds tamed so we can grow even more food near the fences without worrying about rashes, ticks or snakes. I've never considered the value of the harvest before but that is a good question. We harvest close to 1,000 pounds of produce each year plus eggs so I'm guessing we save at least $2,000 a year or more. It is hard to quantify the value of herbs we grow but that saves us a bit too. I may ask my wife to get a more accurate estimate as she does most of the grocery shopping.

Thanks so much. It is a lot of work but worth it. We bought most of our blueberries from Lowes, Home Depot and Tractor Supply Co. Two were gifted to us by a neighbor who was moving.
