June Garden Update & Changes! 😀🌺💚

Welcome Gardeners, I made a few little changes in the garden today. What started out with JUST pulling weeds and watering. . . led to tearing down vines, pulling out plants and making changes to my garden! Love the refresh to the new area. I can't wait to see what color you paint the metal chair. I just love your style and use of color. I am going to paint a chair I have in my garden pink. I think you should go with your feelings of annuals in the bath tub. Experiment. Whatever you do just make sure you are happy with it because that's what our gardens do.....make us HAPPY 😊

Always looks welcoming Liz, I think everyone has a spot in the garden that gets neglected. I like that old bathtub it's a real blast from the past a very hard item to come by these days. I grew up with an old claw tub in our farmhouse. I'm sure whatever you decide to plant in the tub will be gorgeous. I have autumn sedum joys I cut them and propagate new plants. Very hardy succulent. Most beautiful when it starts to bloom.

Hey there, Kelly thank you for taking the time to visit me. I’m glad I’m not the only one who has one of those in neglected spots in the garden. That clawfoot bathtub came from an old hotel in San Francisco. They were remodeling it and throwing it away, imagine that. Yes, they are super fun and very heavy as you know. How fun that you grew up with one in the farmhouse that’s such a great memory. Thanks again for taking the time to visit me.❤️🥰👍Liz

Your garden has so much to discover! It is just so beautiful. Everything is arranged so nicely! There are so many sitting areas . Each section looks like a different garden room. I am in zone 9b also, but I live in the low AZ desert and some of what you have would fry in 115 degree weather! I am looking to put up more shade cloth and umbrellas.

I remember finding the bubblegum at Home Depot a few years back. They have superTuniaVista in other colors now at Home Depot. But not the bubblegum. I love the pink bubblegum best.

I showed what the lights look like in my garden at night time. But now that you mention it, I think that would be a great idea to do a garden tour at night. .Hi Liz, what a fun garden tour. There are so many interesting varieties to enjoy. How about mixing some vegetables with other plants in your tub. In a small area I tossed a few corn seeds for hight and ground cherries and herbs all around a fragrant rose bush. The corn surprised me with its shiny leaves. It will take me into fall when it tassles and turns brown. The ground cherries are delicious and the plant drapes over. Just a thought…🌵💙😘🐝🐾🐥🐥🐣🐔

It was definitely fun and so interesting to see corn and flowers in front. That’s a great idea, but I admit I already planted vinca in it this morning. I will make another video. @@GardenHappy Vinca is always a great choice. It is my favorite flower because it blooms so much and is heat tolerant. We are already hitting 105 every few days and are expecting 109 soon. The herb I meant to mention is licorice (Thai) basil. Absolutely delicious in soups and pretty flowers too. Stay cool

Wow Barbara, that is so crazy. Your temperatures are reaching that high. Our poor little chickens definitely have a hard time in the heat but you know how to keep them. Cool that’s for sure. Does your licorice plant attract swallowtail larva very cool I always enjoy hearing what’s going on in your neck of the woods🌼🌸👍Liz

Everything looks great Liz! I really like what you did with that corner area. I have been into annuals this year. I think the petunia that you mentioned would look so pretty in your bathtub. I am having trouble with snails eating my flowers. Can you share what you do about snails? I remember you said no pesticides so maybe you have a natural remedy? It’s such a treat to see how your garden is progressing through the year. Thanks for sharing ❤️

Thank you, Ginger for taking the time to comment. Sluggo Pellets work great and they are safe for animals. I hate spraying pesticides in my garden, but the Sluggo pellets are very mild and don’t harm anything except for the snails and slugs. I would give those a try. 👍👍👍Liz

I totally agree so much fun to connect. I found another KZbinr who only lives a few blocks away from my house. How crazy is that? And a few more who are just an hour away. I agree it’s so cool when they respond. And there’s also a couple channels I watch and they never respond at all. I wonder if they even read the comments?
