I'm a cyclist, too! I did a 1700-mile trip years ago. It took a month, and coming back home and not being on my bike all day was definitely weird. I will for sure check out Graham's book. My favorite cycling book is *Eat, Sleep, Ride* by Paul Howard, about the Tour Divide (which I've wanted to participate in ever since I first heard about it). He's British, and I just really liked his humor.

Oh my gosh!! 1700 miles!! This is an incredible trip. Where did you bike through?? I would love to one day do a trip like this =D I will add Eat, Sleep, Ride to my list, thank you! I have not heard about the Tour Divide, I will also check that out. I am a super new cycling enthusiast so I appreciate you sharing =D

You might like two books by Adam Minter: Junkyard Planet and Secondhand. The latter was my favorite of the two, but they're both good.

The name 'Junkyard Planet' is super catchy. I will add both to my list, thank you!

From books about cycling I read "Lanterne Rouge: The last man in the Tour de France" and it was so good.🤩 I also read slovenian book but unfortunately is not translated: "Samo človek sem" (I'm only human"). It's about Jure Robič who won Race across America 5 times but he died during training one day in 2010😔

Ooh thank you for the recommendation! I am super curious to learn more about the Tour. Wow, that is so sad about Jure Robič. I just read about how he died and that is incredibly tragic.

I just responded with this to someone who wondered about travel solo books, but for biking solo, have you tried Full Tilt, by Dervla Murphy? Would probably be up your alley?
@WellTraveledBooks3 ай бұрын
I have not read it! I think this past month was the first time I read a book about cycling so I will add Full Tilt to my list, I appreciate it thank you!

I read Devotion last year and absolutely loved it, but I can totally get that what happens in the middle puts a lot of people of, definitely a you love it or you hate it kind of situation. Also, I'd recommend reading Why be happy when you could be normal by JEanette Winterson, that's her memoir, and Oranges is more autofiction, but it reads great as a pairing.

I am so glad you enjoyed Devotion! In theory, what happens is something that I would enjoy reading but for some reason it put me off. I will try to get my hands on Why be happy when you could be normal! I think I had heard about it before, thank you for the rec =)

You convinced me to cancel my hold on the audio of Sociopath and switch to print! I am definitely adding What You Are Looking For to my TBR!

truly, i think thats a good idea! i dont think everyone would be annoyed by her tone, but it was incredibly grating for me. I hope you enjoy what you are looking for!

I've seen a couple 'meh' reviews of Sociopath. I almost put it on my TBR before, but now I think I'll pass. -Becks
